My advice is root it then wipe it (full wipe) and finally use Battery Calibration form Market.
It'll allow Android to refresh it's battery stats for one thing, Android unto itself it pretty lousy at reading it without error from my experience and I've used a multitude of devices all of which suffer from it.
The best thing to try is turn off syncing, data, gps and WiFi for a few days and see the results. Also widgets are a huge drain if they update frequently.
