    Optimus One battery drain

I've been using the optimus one for 3 weeks now. But I'm having a problem of fast battery drain. Even a full charge doesn't last one day with browsing and some media playback. I don't use wifi or 3g. I read that Beautiful Widgets drain it so I uninstalled it. But no visible changes.
    Please help.

If you flash it alot remember to fully charge and clear the battery stats, If not clear the battery stats when fully charged and let it drain do it for a few days and see the results, It helped my SGS when I was getting 8 hours with no to minimal usage out of it (stock Rom)

I haven't flashed it yet. Still on stock.
So I should fully charge it and then completely drain it??
    Sorry I didn't get you.

What do you mean by battery stats?

Ah well, If you're not rooted you don't have to worry about the Battery stats. Just drain it and fully charge it, Rinse and repeat for a few days. Should re-jig the battery back into life

Use Juice Defender, lower brightness and (root) lower processor speed at screen off gave me 4 days of battery life on my ROM. You can try to do that, report back.

I tried Juice defender but I felt it also consumed battery. Also it messed with my network connectivity. I couldn't connect to the internet once. Had to uninstall it.

Do a factory reset. Remove apps you don't use, use Advanced Task Killer.

I'll try removing apps. But I thought task killers were bad for your android device.
And how much of juice should I expect from a 1500 mAh battery with occasional browsing and gaming, no wifi or 3g? This usage should last me a day, right?

Angry Birds, NFS: Shift and Assassins creed sometimes. Not daily.

I lost 10% of battery in 2h 23mins. No gaming or browsing or media playback even!
The battery usage is shown as
    Android System- 52%
    Android OS- 25%
    Media Server- 11%
    Cell Standby- 5%
    Phone Idle 5%
    Goggles- 4%

    Is this normal?

Well I don't think it will help, simple battery used in android has no memory effect like old ones (p2k) had, that's why fully charge and full drain seems to be useless. IMO

My advice is root it then wipe it (full wipe) and finally use Battery Calibration form Market.

Is there any other option other than rooting??
I don't want to root a brand new phone, especially within the warranty period.
How is it possible to lose 10% of juice in 2 hours with practically no usage??

3 weeks phone isn't brand new how would you do something w/o administrator permissions?

well w/o root you can wipe it (factory reset) in settings
