MyTouch 3G - which ROM?

Hey guys,

I'm about to hack my sister's MyTouch tomorrow. I just hacked my own cliq, and it seems way easier. The MyTouch isn't as straight forward. For instance, the cliq has a dedicated rom section. For the mytouch, I just see roms scattered about. My questions are:

What's the fastest, most stable rom right now for the mytouch and what's a good recovery? I've been doing my research and have a tutorial I'm going to follow, but again, the info is sorta scattered, like the roms seem to be.

Edit: Is Biffmod 2.1 pretty good?

the mytouch/magic come in a few different versions. to find out which mobo you have do the following:

power down phone, hold the back button while powering on. this will bring you to the bootloader screen. on this screen it will say 32A or 32B. make a note of which one you have.

also we need to know the s/w version for Android(1.5, 2.1, 2.2, etc.)
you may need to downgrade to Cupcake 1.5 to root.

post the required info and we'll go from there

once rooted i recommend Cyanogen CM6 2.2 ROM

32a and 32b can both be rooted quickly and easily using universal androot (guide is stickied at the top of the magic section) if the phone is on 1.5 or 1.6. As for roms yes biff is good. My opinion is go with anything cyanogen our cyanogen based (which biffmod is)
