This may be kind of a noob question, but what is the difference between ext3 and ext4 and the such? I get the different choices when partitioning my sd card but I'm not sure what is the best or difference. Also, is the only benefit for partitioning that I don't have to reinstall apps if I try another rom or reinstall? Do I gain any speed? I'm just trying to get a better understanding. Thx

they're different types of linux partitions, like FAT, FAT32 and NTFS in windows. ext4 is pretty new, and not everything supports it. I'd suggest go for ext2 or at most ext3. no, i don't think u will have any speed gain, u can just move apps 2 sd card, save space on ur phone memory. The minus side is that u cannot access those apps when ur sd card is mounted on ur pc via usb.

phone rebooted itself yesterday and now the security lock wont come up either with the screen lock. also when i long press the power button, only option i get is to turn the phone off. any ideas how to fix this without doing a wipe and reload?

another problem, home button wont bind to anything. please any help would be great.

Hi. Not sure if this is a dumb question or not? (probably!!!)... While in recovery mode I moved all of my apps to my sd-card to clear a bit of space. Rebooted and yes I had a load more space on my phone :-) Unfortunately all of the apps that got shifted (including my Market app!!!) are now inaccessible :-( So I'm now without any means of accessing the Market to download them again or redownload my Titanium Backup.

I'm guessing a full wipe & reboot will fix this, but wondered if there was a quicker alternative???

Did you flash this ROM or CM7? J_r0dds has Market in /system/apps so I don't see why it would diappear.
Re-download do a wipe-all and reflash the ROM again.

I've got this latest rom installed. I've had it for a while without any problems really. I've wiped & reflashed & the market app is now back. I think the problem I have is not being able to access my partitioned sd-card. Ever since I partitioned it ages ago I've not been able to access any files in the partitioned bit, which I guess is why my apps disappeared.

I've had that problem also with my sdcard partitioned. I no longer have any partitions. But I also upgraded to CyanogenMod 7 and native apps2sd is working good. -Good Luck

Yes and that's why it's offered as an OPTIONAL patch so you don't have to use it.
