I recommend using setcpu, my home screen blazes and so does the app drawer.

go to the advanced tab and try and locate Sampling Rate and set it to the max, then leave the Up Threshold on 95, Nice Load on 0, and Powersave on 0, and make sure you have it on Set On Boot, I run a stock build (or so) and it comes out vertualy lag free. Also clearing Ram and Cache helps a lot to.
i keep mine at 245-528 ondemand
