[ROM] Official CyanogenMod 7 for Cliq/Dext

Does this ROM include a radio image??? Don't want to screw up my 3G if i flash it. Looking to move from Vanilla w/Eclair 1.2 to something else since my Wifi doesn't work!

I'm wondering this would be no problem for an Australian DEXT which operates on the Optus network? It was originally an optus only phone. I really have a huge impulse to flash the new rom now!!!! XD

Handler Exploits Recovery will work right? Doesn't have to use j_rodds. Any recovery should work right?

Just one last thing to clarify,theres no need to Wipe Data/Factory Reset before installing the new ROM?

[MENTION=3190294]bhbc06[/MENTION] - No you need j_r0dds 2.0 or ClockworkMod. The reason being is the android.secure file that needs to be deleted...but I guess you can use HE's to flash for the first time but after that you will need one of the 2.

Also use MyBackup Root to backup your apps, data and sms and phone calls...The ROM has a built in Wipe so it will deplete everything. Always do a nandroid backup before flashing...Don't use Titanium because it will break things..

Sorry for my noobness, but i've only flashed a custom rom once, and that was from 1.5 to Vanilla w/Eclair 1.2, and follwing the Bell Mobility Dext Bible.

That is correct...The reason you need j_r0dds 2.0 or CWM is because of the android.secure file...when updating to a Froyo or Gingerbread ROM it creates a file on your sdcard. It is the native apps2sd file called android.secure. Whenever you flash a new ROM that file must be deleted or it will cause boot loops. So that's why you can use HE's recovery to flash only the first time but to cause less headaches you should change to one of the other 2 recoveries (j_r0dds 2.0 or CWM) when performing updates or flashing a newer build...

Great ROM! Just flashed! Wifi working and Launcher is great! So customisable!

Screen transitions are pretty smooth so this baby ain't no resource hog! Thanks so much to all the Developers. Who would've thought Gingerbread would be posssible on this considering DEXT was only supported to 1.5.

I wiped and reinstall many times already, but this ROM doesn't feel smooth or fast as the 2.1 ROMs. Its running 691mhz OC on smartass. I played around with the recommended settings also. I'm not saying its unusable,just not as responsive. Is it just me?

Please don't take this as an insult, I'm very thankful for having 2.3.

I don't even OC on mine. I keep it On Smarass 528max and 122min and it runs really smooth.
Don't use SetCPU to set the OC in fact I would delete it. Use the CyanogenMod Performance Settings and you will get better results..

Also if you are using the ADW Launcher you will need to turn OFF Animations in Settings and in Spare Parts. ADW has its own settings for screen speed which if they are set correctly then your screen transitions will be almost instant.

The best launcher IMO for 2.3 would be adw ex
Have never had any issues even with both animations turned on and everything
Yes 2.3 sometimes doesn't feel as smooth as 2.1 roms but it is faster than stock and MUCH faster than when we first started =) its day and night now
We are still working on it though as it is not finished so just keep that in mind =)

Since using ADW EX (my favorite launcher) I've always had better results when turning the Animations and Screen Transitions OFF. I guess its just my preference.

Its because they are in /data/app
ill see if we can get that fixed, its a known issue with apps that are there sorry :/

Which method did you use to download the ROM? Also if you used CWM then you may have dl'd the wrong file...just a suggestion.
