One problem with iDEN phones is that most people who use them and buy them are construction workers. As for modding there are a few keypad tricks to get into the programming menus, but if your not an engineer at Motorola or Sprint you will have no clue what any of that stuff does.

I believe iDEN uses its own OS, not Synergy or MOTOMAGX. They have recently updated the UI to look a lot like MotoMAGX for some reason.

What would have been nice is if they released this on a GSM or even CDMA network.

The Number 1 selling feature on this phone is Direct Connect on a RAZR handset.

I finally played with one a few days ago trying to demonstrate the touchscreen to a customer.... the os is ridiculously stupid, and as far as modding goes there will be none.... cool looking phone, but it's horrible in my opinion

it was very restricting, and difficult to use..... and it looked very cheap, barely any eye-candy in the menus at all.... there are no multiple ways to do something.... and it looked like crap.... nothing had a nice look to it.... it just looked cheap.... meant for a boost phone

According to the reviews it will be unlocked if purchased from retailers like radio shack but cost $50 usd more up front. That is $50 more from a retailer, compared to say nextel/sprint retailers. So sprint/nextel's locked versions cost out-the-door $250 USD with a $50 USD mail in rebate. General public retailers like Radio Shack sell the unlocked version for a flat fee with no rebate for $300 USD. This phone feels good in your hands like any moto should. I find it does have its limits though (only had it 24 hours)at least with facebook anyway.
I downloaded opera mini 3( http://booststuff.com/index.php?opti...&id=1&Itemid=3 ) as a secondary browser (works). Installing music on the card (to me) was a little confusing but I've never done it before either. I have a mem card reader not the micro usb cord so it maybe different if you have the actual cord that you can tether with. I'm looking for the app for facebook chat if anyone can give me more info on that that would be SWEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTT......lol Thanks and I hope this helped. booststuff.com has some things for this carrier. Peace Love And Happiness
