| [IMAGE][v0.5c][28-aug-2010] MotoFrenzy (Froyo 2.2 for milestone) | This is the Froyo FRG22 image for our Milestone. but as this is not using the kernel, there are some limit to functions based on kernel requirement. But its close, and works great and is alot faster.
You can also follow updates on Twitter now: Dexter Picard (DexterPicard) on Twitter or you can visit my new homepage at Dexter's mods Primary Image download - MotoFrenzy v0.5a FULL imageOLDER FULL RELEASES - MotoFrenzy v0.4 FULL image MotoFrenzy v0.3 FULL image MotoFrenzy v0.2 FULL image MotoFrenzy v0.1c FULL image MotoFrenzy folder goes into /nandroid/adbrecovery on your SDCARD ALWAYS WIPE YOUR PHONE BEFORE INSTALLING A FULL IMAGE Patches 0.5c ext2 fsck check added, init.rc updates, hwkeyboard shortcuts, overclock v1.4 update. download the latest attached zip , and inside you find a MotoFrenzy-vx.xx-update-nosign zip , which you copy to your sdcard into the folder /OpenRecovery/updates and recover from OpenRecovery menu.

THEMES (works on 0.5 but FRG22 features are lost) Themes applied with OpenRecovery, will automatically format(factory reset) your phone, as these has different signatures and cannot be used on top of this releas without factory reset.
Download Theme - Nexus1 theme for froyo. This theme is based on Modaco R21 release with chinese included too.
it has multilanguage support and france, germany, italian, portugese and some chinese(i cannot pronounce) as examples
hw keyboard light only works when "auto" light is disabled. (use power panel, so you can manage light if needed) Download Theme - UD Extreme 5.0.1 for froyo. This theme is primarily "dark grey".
All credits goes to Ultimate Droid for the making of this mod, i just ported their Droid release to run on our milestone.
You should note, this uses an alternate launcher(PRO) and added functions(UDParts menu) into menus for configuation and as example DISABLE/CHANGE PREFERRED STORAGE for Market downloads, which we, with a 2.1 kernel can utilize. Please visit their site to see the pictures of this mod.
I have not have the chance to test all options of their menu functions but it looks promissing. Download Theme - Droid FRG01 stock theme for froyo. Original theme coming with 0.4 image. this is primarily just for easy restore. STATUSWORKING Camera

NOT WORKING Video Recorder KNOWN ISSUESSome Market apps fail to download.. Solution for now, is unmount sdcard in sdcard management menu, download, and enable again. (this will not affect Apps2SD) INSTALLATION FULL Images are copied to the SDCARD into /nandroid/adbrecovery folder, and installed from your OpenRecovery menu.
Patches are copied into the /OpenRecovery/updates folder, and installed from openrecovery menu. Radio Band Requirements for different countries
Some countries require the original 3G files of your current ROM to work ie. Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany and some others countries uses a different band for 3G. If u dont backup the 4 original 3G Files and restore it over this nandroid once installed u gonna have poor signal, sms problems and HSDPA loss (even if u set apn and get conection its gonna be crappy one).
Files should be in the /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/ of your phone.
Files can only be copied from OpenRecovery , using adb shell. Latest v0.5 has builtin install option using GScript , so you can get the radio replaced/installed. without update zip files.
You might check this thread , if a update-nosign.zip file exists for your model. which makes it easier for you to install.
Filenames are:File_Audio
File_Audio2

enable by putting a "use_apps2sd" trigger file on / of your sdcard (NOT A DIRECTORY)
- this will then prepare your sd card with second partition if not exist
or created with other tools.
- EXT2 partitions are now supported. apns-conf.xml updated with HTC edition (many, many providers) /etc/init.d enabled for startup scripts Wireless tethering for root users, added, and fixed (Thyrus solution) wpa_supplicant from droid froyo edition added, and updated to match this release.
should fix 801.x configuration? (untested) remount / mountsd / umountsd scripts added v0.2b: 01-08-2010 (18:21 GMT+1)- Removed hardware keyboard workaround, im told it drains battery, so it no longer enabled.
- added ext2.ko module, so if you enable apps2sd and have a ext2 partition or made it in openrecovery, it will be used now. v0.2a: 30-07-2010 (22:54 GMT+1)Apps2SD fix.. didnt work with FAT formatted partitions.
handling is now different but works just as good.
Market Download and Manual installs has now (also) been tested. If you already got so far, to test Apps2SD, please just reinstall backup, after this patch and all should be
good.. it will then just copy files again to sdcard. If you do not do this, files on sdcard backup partition will be removed, and apps no longer appear installed. v0.2: 30-07-2010 (21:19 GMT+1)(get 0.2a fix to use Apps2SD) Apps2SD function using partition2 on your SDCARD it will autodetect SDCARD size and take 1024MB for apps.
You can enable this function by putting a empty file in the root of your sdcard named:use_apps2sd NOTE: If you want to restore a backup with apps, remember to enable apps2sd AFTER you restored the backup.
make sure you have a backup of the card, if anything goes wrong. but it has been tested and should be safe. backups are always nice!
During the preperation of the sdcard, you phone hangs at the "M" logo, you will see the "blue" led turned on during this process.
After existing application are moved to the new partition, phone will reboot once during the process. This is normal, as partitions change and linux needs reboot.
apns-conf.xml updated with HTC edition (many, many providers) hardware keyboard fix, lights even when auto light is enabled. /etc/init.d enabled for startup scripts audio files updated, as problems with wmv/wma did not work correctly. completely new FRF91 apk set , provided by Thyrus (from his edition of this image) Wireless tethering for root users, added, and fixed (Thyrus solution) wpa_supplicant from droid froyo edition added, and updated to match this release.
This should fix 801.x configuration? (untested) remount / mountsd / umountsd scripts added apks added com.androidapps.spare_parts.apk
WirelessTethering.apk
SholesQuickOffice.apk
ase_mcr_r25.apk (Market script optimizer)

AlarmClock.apk added (Dockstation add-on)

Enhances speaker and headset experiences, so required!
Interactive governor added to startup,
activate using SetCPU application.
read more about it here Interactive governor | android.doshaska.net I have used the DSP libraries of Droid here, if anyone feels the sound/audio is not correct, try to post information here
I chose to keep them, as the libs seems to have more features than those found on milestone But this might show up to be a problem, but yet not beeen so. v0.1b: 27-07-2010 (00:29 GMT+1) (MotoFrenzyv01b.ZIP)updated zip with overclock apk file. last minute update of root loader, for path environment settings. 26-07-2010 I seem to have forgotten the "overclock" file, mentioned in the documentation. the file contains only 2 lines. download attachment "overclock.zip" and put it on your SDCard. you need to update values, if you dont want 1000Mhz. Sorry, for the rather poor testing on first release, but meantime i got the lack of space solved, and image does not use /cache anymore, and no need to think about hidden problems in openrecovery, this image is now 100% in /system and you can wipe phone without problems too. Fixed a Bluetooth problem removed flash10.1, you need to download after install flash seems not to be able to activate when run during recovery changed build.prop , for support of downloading "flash10.1 beta3" seems our milestone is not allowed to do that.
note: if you disable overclock in app, you cannot enable before you reboot phone.. overclock app see phone as "nexus one" and its not supported. Removed backup of apps to sdcard, as they are now in /system V0.1Note this is based on original Motorola kernel for AndroidOS 2.1, so features required for OS 2.2 with new kernel is not available. Includes overclocking module, see readme in zip for more details.
If you wish to wipe data, please do this after first bootup, as the app files are on the "cache" partition, and will be lost if the backup function does not run during first bootup. it copies the apps to your sdcard (50MB) |
