After about 5 days of use I must say internet never disconnected. Strange that not a lot of people are interested in this fix especially the ones using the Froyo build...
Thanks for this fix

thanks for info,
this fix not work for me..
the value always replace by my gsm provider dns everytime i reboot my phone..or switch back from wifi to gsm..
i checked it using app "ipdroid" in the market
so i am using below command manualy if my dns change by my provider:
setprop net.rmnet0.dns1 8.8.8.8
setprop net.rmnet0.dns2 8.8.4.4
setprop net.dns1 8.8.8.8
setprop net.dns2 8.8.4.4
or you can create sh script and put above command as .sh file..and run it manually using #sh

harunjo: That's not how it's supposed to work. I've thought that I've explained it on that page clearly enough.
The values should get replaced by the provider's DNS servers and that's perfectly OK.
The intention is not to use custom defined DNS addresses, but to ensure the creation of these DNS properties at all. Because that fact in itself can prevent the non-functioning internet. That works for cases when these properties are (under certain circumstances) not created during system start-up (nor later) at all. Which is the bug that some users are experiencing after the 2.1 bugfix upgrade (2.36/2.38 etc.).
The DNS numbers I've chosen are the Google DNS servers, but it actually could be any random numbers. I simply didn't want to put there some nonsensical made-up numbers. But I actually could do that, and the fix would still be perfectly functional.Last edited by nadlabak; 08-11-2010 at 03:29 AM.
