[MOD] Unsecured Boot.img
This is just something i threw together for you guys to flash. a basic mod but a very necessary one. This is just something I provided for something to hold you over until the roms start flowing and it will be up to to rom maker to provide this mod for you guys.
*unsecured boot.img (you can do adb remounts)
1. rename to boot.img
2. push to sdcard
3.4. rebootCode:adb shell flash_image boot /sdcard/boot.img
ATT 0.13.37
GB 0.3.7
AUS 0.2.13
IT 0.1.2
There way too many different versions of the firmware for me to support every single version. You may want to make sure your phone is up to date. from here 1st to prevent bootloops!! http://modmymobile.com/forums/406-mo...perthread.htmlLast edited by j_r0dd; 09-05-2010 at 05:54 PM. Reason: Backflip is AT&T vs. every other version

I'll test it if you tell me how to get into recovery mode so I can flash it =p
edit: well i found out how to get into recovery mode but no idea how to partition my sd card to the right format or how to flash >.>
Does this include app2sd or merely has "support" for it?Last edited by Midnitte; 08-27-2010 at 10:43 AM.

I believe you'll have to restore from a NAND backup (hopefully you did that...). From recovery, select the Backup/restore option, then the final option of Restore from backup. If you don't have a backup, then you'll have to flash an SBF(?) file, but you'll have lost all of your apps and personal settings (basically like doing a factory reset). See this thread: http://modmymobile.com/forums/406-mo...perthread.html for the files/instructions that you will need.

can somebody put the original boot.img in an update.zip and sign that? I think the reason its not booting is because the boot.img included is non standard. I cant sign anything cause the new recovery has adb problems.

Its sorta difficult for a newbie, im not expecting anything, dont worry :3
Basically just download androidcommander and dump it in your sdk/tools directory. Locate the root of the sdk directory when you run it for the first time. In tools.. sign.. do update.zip with the original boot.img. You need to go into settings and download sign.jar or whatever it was. Its simple if you just read carefully.
I know you dont have a nandroid backup so ill upload the original boot.img for you to use. Ill even zip it.

Dont extract it, just sign that exact boot.zip and upload it back to meLast edited by Skyfallkavu; 08-27-2010 at 03:05 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

All you need to do is put the boot.img on the sdcard type "adb shell flash_image boot /sdcard/boot.img"
