    Solution [Tweak] Phone tweak

    Hey guys!

Here's a new tweak. It add's a script to /system/etc/init.d which keeps the Phone.apk in memory and sets is nice value to a high priority.

It will result in a smaller delay before the phone screen pop's up when you are called.

With default settings, the script will run every 10 minutes, you can modify this by editing the interval variable in the script. The value has to be in seconds.
So 600 means 10 minutes, 1800 means 30 minutes, etc. The lower the interval, the faster your battery will be drained.

    New Version!
    • Now working on CM6 and Preclair 1.6. :-) ( both tested by me )
    • Logging into /data/phoneinmemory.log (will be erased on every boot)
    • Default interval is 1800 seconds (30 Minutes)

So here you go on your own risk ;-): phone-tweak.zip v1.1 for cm6/preclair

    Installation:
As usual, make a backup, apply using recovery, restore backup if something is going wrong.

Have fun and please give feedback!

FYI: Does that .zip have anyrhing inside it? I dl via my phone and when extracted I don't see anything.

I recommend putting in the OP that this wastes more battery, the lower the interval the more batt it wastes.

    Thanks for the feedback!
I'm trying to investigate why it gives you bootlops.

My phone is running preclair 1.6 and clockworkmod recovery and everything is working fine.

There should be a file called '90phone' in /system/etc/init.d/ of the update.zip, and as usual the 'update-script'.

The cause of bootloops : you've tested and created this for preclair, not CM6B2(/1). Therefore...it was not something CM6B2 could handle..just a guess though.

Actually, you can make a universal script. If you let me, I will create one, but I requiere of a mention on the OP as well as a thanks.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm trying to get it working myself.
Learning by doing, you know the drill.

If I am unable to get it working, I remember your offer and I may take you up on it some time.

EDIT: Got it working now, look at OP. Nevertheless thanks to GHOSTS3V3N for this offer to help me.

The link is bad. I was able to edit. Doing backup now. Will advise.

Ok, it installed and booted. Now all I have to do is wait for someone to call me!
