Make sure it didn't get named recovery.img.img. Windows by default hides known extensions

If you use connect bot don't type 'adb shell' because you are already in the shell

Make sure your phone is on the home screen (not the lock screen) when you type su in the shell. You might get an image asking you to allow Superuser access, like this:

and how do i get out of stock recovery
