Enable EDGE on an A1200
1. Download Edge.rar from the below link and unrar it.
http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/down...o=file&id=4178
2. In your phone go to setup and select the USB mode as "USB Modem".
3. Connect your phone to PC via USB cable and start Radiocomm,
select connection mode as USB if the software asks for it.
Your phone will be detected followed by couple of installations and system reboot*. After rebooting go to next step
4. Start RadioComm, your phone will be detected.
Now Go to Features and select "Run Test Script Command".
A window will pop-up, press the browse button and go to the location where you have unrar the EDGE.rar file, select EDGE.tcs file.
5. Press Run Script button, it will show that command is complete.
6. Exit Radiocomm, unplug phone and restart it.
7. EDGE is enabled, now you will see "E" instead of "G".

I'll tell you straightup. If you do not know what RADIOCOMM is then it'll take a long while to get the EDGE network setup on your A1200.
RADIOCOMM is a proprietary piece of Motorola diagnostics software. You know, the kind technicians use to check out how screwed your phone is. I'm not an expert on it but I use something similar for Motorola portable radios.
You won't find it on the web for free easily and the version you need should be fairly recent (as in 2006 or newer - IMO) otherwise your phone will not connect via USB in the manner Jacknmary posted here.
I will tell you his method works and like a champ! I personally wanted to say thanks, as I have been messing with my A1200 looking to switch over to EDGE.

I originally had 25p firmware, but flashed it to Mischka's 30p firmware and this made EDGE go away that I enabled when I still have the 25p.
After flashing to 30p, I tried using radiocomm by itself but the status box was red and says it failed.
I then connected through hyperterminal with my phone, started radiocomm and executed the edge file. The status box was green in radiocomm and stated it was successful but I still have a "G".
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks.
