Solution Bluetooth Internet on E6 Guide!

Sorry it took me so long but im finally done. My computer broke down. Here's the guide to internet access on your E6 or A1200 through bluetooth. I made this while im reinstalling mine.

In case you are not clear of what this actually means, here's a rough idea:
The phone uses your computer's internet connection through bluetooth to access the internet.

So if this is not what you want, don't bother about this guide.

If this idea fancies you, go on.

    *GUIDE*
    WHAT YOU NEED

    1. Obviously an E6 or A1200
    2. The package files for your phone
    3. BlueSoleil 2.3
    4. A decent bluetooth dongle
    5. Windows XP and above
    6. A Malaysian 17 year old chinese to translate for you (......)

    FILES NEEDED

    1. bluepand.pkg at http://club.ccmove.com/nclub/downatt-307906.html and click on 下载地址:bluepand.pkg

    2. blueoff.pkg at http://club.ccmove.com/nclub/downatt-307905.html and click on 下载地址:blueoff.pkg

    *UPDATE*
Since some say the links don't work no more, I've uploaded a new set via rapidshare.
    http://rapidshare.com/files/84937426...ueoff.zip.html

    3. Blue Soleil 2.3 can be found at the bluesoleil official site. Google it! Download 2.3, i'm not sure if it works with the new versions.

    SETTING UP YOUR PC

    1. Plug in your bluetooth dongle. Windows XP should come with the default drivers for your device and install it.

    2. Extract and install blue soleil 2.3 (This is a evaluation mode only, I can't buy it cos i'm 17 and i don't have a credit card.)

    3. The setup will install a few new devices that will enable new features to your bluetooth device.

    4. Start up BlueSoleil 2.3 to configure the necessary stuff.

    5. Go to My Services > Properties and make sure the 'Auto-start this service when My Bluetooth starts', 'Set up Bluetooth Personal Area Network' and 'Enable DHCP Server' boxes are checked. Click OK.

    6. Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections.

    7. You should see a few new connections now. One of them should be connected with Bluetooth PAN Network Adapter. Right click it and click properties.

    8. Open the TCP/IP properties and use the following IP addresses:
    IP address : 192.168.19.4
    Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway : <leave blank>

    9. Click OK here and OK again to save the settings.

    10. Now, at Network Connections, right click at your default internet connection (the one that you use to connect to the internet), and click properties. In the advanced tab, check the box 'Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection'. Click OK.

    11. This should be easy for PPPoE DSL connections, this connection is now ready to be shared among your network.

    12. Your computer is now ready, pick up your phone now.

    SETTING UP YOUR PHONE

    1. Install blueoff.pkg and bluepand.pkg using the MPKG installer, which you can find in the downloads section.

    2. I assume you know how to install .pkg files. If you don't, look around in the forum.

    3. Now, here's the tricky part cos you don't read Chinese... x_x"

    4. 蓝牙网络 and 关闭蓝牙 will be installed.

    5. To start using, run 蓝牙网络 (which means bluetooth internet) on your phone.

    6. The respond by the phone will be in Chinese. I will translate it as below:

    Phone's IP address=192.168.19.1
    Computer's IP address=192.168.19.4
    Bluetooth Passkey=123
    Domain IP address=61.139.2.69

    7. Click on the close button on the bottom right.

    8. The message popped up means (god this is tiring):

'Beginning to search for Bluetooth Personal Area Network service and establish bluetooth internet, this process might take some time, approximately 20 seconds, if there is no further response after a minute, please end this application with Task Manager and retry.'

    9. Click on 确认 which means confirm. Then wait.

    10. From here you either get a 1 line message that tells you the search has failed, or a 3 lined message that means you have succeeded.

    11. IF, you fail, try again by doing the same thing with your phone closer to the dongle. AND make sure BlueSoleil is up and running.

    12. On the computer, BlueSoleil will request for the passkey upon a successful search. The key will be 123.

    13. Then, you will see a device connected to your Personal Area Network. Congratulations you're done.

    BROWSING THE WEB

    1. Run the browser in your phone.

    2. Theres no need to connect to a GPRS connection.

    3. If a dialog box pops out that says 'No browser profile has been selected, Select one now?' click cancel.

    4. Your homepage should load.

    THE ANNOYING PART

There are 2 annoying parts about this method.

    1. Every time between minutes, a message, yes, in chinese, will pop up. I shall translate it:

'Hello, the software you are using has not been registered yet.
Please choose 'more information' (the first button... which doesn't work) to view the detailed registration guide!
Please confirm within 15 seconds, or the software MIGHT (bastards) assume that it is on system idle and shutdown bluetooth internet.'

Just select 确认 which means confirm.

    2. BlueSoleil 2.3 Evaluation mode will only allow 5mb of data flow before it disconnects. You will have to close BlueSoleil and run it again and reconnect through the phone.

    FINISHED

And there you have it internet bluetooth. Although this is a very troublesome way to give free internet access for your phone(in your home). It's still a pretty cool idea. Kudos to the chinese people who wrote these software. Lets hope that the Wi-Fi SDIO cards support for E6s will be released soon *cough*. Its 2.30 am and im finished with the guide. I want some love, or thanks for this... pls.... muahahahahahaha...

    Cheers,

I doubt it has anything to do with the EDGE on the E6. Cos this is access through bluetooth. So i assume that the maximum speed will depend on your bluetooth and the signal strength. Its not a good substitute for Wi-Fi or EDGE and stuff. It's just a little fun.

Thanks a lot mann, that is fantastic.
Its working absolutely fine with my a1200. My PC net connection is broandband with 1.5 MBPS.
The speed on mobile is also awesome.
Just one troubling thing, the popup window after every 15 sec, but its fine.
    Thanks again. :dancingbanana:

Just one question does the internet works only on default browser? I tried it out on mini opera but was not succesful, may be I mayam going wrong somewhere, if anybody tries it, let me know................

loops101: yea anyone should work... i got mine for a fair price. you don't have to pay for this because it uses your computer's connection. You only pay for your broadband or dial-up.

rahul135: im not sure abt that tho... haha... i've tried using msn messenger on the phone but it doesn't work without a gprs connection. I'm not sure how to resolve that. Maybe we can create a dummy gprs connection that connects to the bluetooth IP? i'll try it out...

    have you tried reinstalling it?

When u say it was connecting, u meant the phone took 40 seconds to connect and showed the network error message?
