If you have this s/w version it will not let you install any applications even with MPKG installer, you will have to flash another MP in order to be able to install your application. I recommend AhMan Hybrid 08p MP which does have voice recognizition software. You can check your s/w version go to your Dial Pad and dial: WWW008W. To make the W hit the menu button while in the dial pad, then hit insert->insert wait to make the W .

Thanks for the info.. I've been trying with all the MPKG installers that I found.. in vain..

However, I'm kindda touchy and scared abt flashing my phone.. is there any workaround at all? Would SEEM edit do anything?

Appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this...

I'm sorry but at the moment the only way to fix this is by flashing to another firmware, i just added a great guide by alpha here on how to flash your e6 and its not hard at all

I really don't need cantonese voice recognition on my phone, and I especially don't want it locked to my definable button. Is there a version of 08p available without that particular feature?

you don't have to flash that mp , it can be any 06p, 09p etc, check the dload section

I think so... If you can give me a good reason why anyone would want this terrible version, I can try to find the time to upload it somewhere.

Well, just one reason, I get use to this version already. I tried other firmware version...but don't know why just feel still love the original one that come with the handphone.

can you try the motorola software update tool from their official site first? That's where I got my copy from, the tool will download it all on it's own. (You can make a copy from the firmwares folder, I think the tool will also delete it when it's done installing otherwise.

Try already...cannot update...the software update tool said my phone got the newest firmware already...

You answered my question before I got the chance to ask. Tried everything I could on the 11.10.54 version with no luck. Used the Rokr E6 Flashing 2 guide. Now using .08p generic and everything works fine.
After the firmware change, I had to reset the Motorola Phone Tools to add all my contacts and appointments back in but it was no problem. I did remove my sim card before flashing as the instructions only mentioned the SD card. I am on my second sim card due to a Samsung fiasco so I took no chances.
