How to flash the firmware:
A) Download USB Drivers for your OS from the download section.
B) Google and download the RSD Lite, version at least 4.5.7.
C) Connect your phone to your PC, open up RSD Lite, select the shx / sbf you want to flash and hit flash (the phone should turn to bootloader mode on its own).
D) Wait until it flashes.
Note: If your phone can boot up to the blue bootloader, you can still flash it with RSD Lite (in case your recovery is screwed too).
Note: You cannot downgrade from firmware with greater secure version to one with lower secure version. Flashing a SBF sets the required secure version for future flashes to it's own secure version (if the flash suceeds)Last edited by Skrilax_CZ; 11-21-2010 at 03:41 AM.

Noob
hi, im new to modding motorola phones. i have rooted and modded several G1's but this is my first moto. I have a Cliq xt with stinking android 1.5 and this junky motoblur which limits me. I want to be free.
Anyway, do you have a dummy guide to flashing a Cliq? Since this is stock it is not rooted. do i need to root first and how do i acomplish this? any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think this will help with removing 1.5 and blur. Not until this phone is rooted.

Well, currently, it's not been made possible. We need to find an exploit that allows us to flash custom firmware.
