Yes if you have Quench from Brazil, this is also likely to work as well: CLIQ XT & QUENCH firmwares Superthread (it's a different exploit which should be on other firmwares as well, as long their secure version is not higher than 0005)

So unless you have forgone updates for you Cliq xt this method of rooting will not work for our phones in the US?

I'm trying to root my Cliq XT on T-Mobile. I know there HAS to be some easy exploit that the few people that have looked at this phone have missed. There's always some simple way that gets overlooked. I'm working on it as much as I can. I've found plenty of exploits for the 2.6.27 kernel that it uses, but the one that I know works requires SSH and ssh-keygen, which it doesn't have. I'll let you know if I get any root goodnes :-)

im lookin for a exploit for canada quench on rogers i know telus one has a different exploit as my friend found one but doesnt work on rogers :/ fifferent fw i guess but if i find out for rogers i will let ya knoe and i will post a monter file rom of rogers fw also
