ProPz as far as this goes but I had a question....it seems as though the link to get the "root pack" broken..I have a different version...instead of -install root.sh I have "busybox" so I'm stuck at *adb push install-root.sh......* step before adb shell portion for rooting...if someone has a copy of the MSM ROOT PACK it would b greatly appreciated if I could possibly get copy...thanks

These are the files that are present within the SMS root pack: busybox, rageagainstthcage-arm5.bin, su, Superuser.apk

I have a hunch that it is not the right "MSM root pack" for this tutorial. This is because I don't see a file "root.sh"

An upload with the correct root pack would be very kind. Link to "SMS_ROOT_PACK is broken from this thread.

no dash in front of adb in that command you highlighted....also you forgot a / after the c: and after Moto_MSM_Root in it.

    adb push c:\Moto_MSM_Root\install-root.sh /data/local/tmp/install-root.sh

Did you get to do these steps after you got the #?

    Type into the console:
    - /data/local/tmp/install-root.sh
(if the script prints nothing, then it was successful)
    - exit
    - exit

If you did and you are just going back in connectbot for whatever reason, type 'su' at the dollar sign and hit enter

    ROOT!!! @c0Mpl1$hed"""B4 I PROCEED+++++RESTORE FACTORY

Thanks to all those who have made this possible..........

My main inquirey within this post is to find out if it is possible to RESTORE CLIQ XT (POST ROOT) WITHOUT USING NANDROID?

I ask this in fear of overwriting "FACTORY nandroid backup" during process of root.

However, I do still posess the original Recovery.img and I am running Factory====SYSTEM VERSION: Blur_Version.1.32.16.MB501.T-obile.en.US++++++++++++++=*****

hence no custom rom flashed....just recovery

My goal is to have the necessary "OBJECTS" to obtain a factory install /J.in.C/ Shoot Happens from current position within "ROOT Adventure

Your insight is greatly valued, as to; your time. Thank you.

many thanks many thanks for your time uploading and suggesting help. I am very grateful

Thank you. I apologize of my ignorance being the reason of unintentional "elbow pointing" implied to your help; that was not my intention. I had a few tabs open and they must not have updated at the time. I apprectiate you time and help. Thank you.

pspspspspspspspspspspsp Does the ota blur version 1.32.16 have to be matched with a flashed custom roms "OTA build number" or a better word firmaware?"

again thanks. SORRY FOR THE "elbow pointing"***NOBREAK1970...Not intentional by any means. Thank you for your support!

Now that you have root, your are golden. I suggest performimg a nandroid backup of your stock ROM before doing anything else. The nandroid will be stored on your SDcard for future restores.

RESTORE CLIQ XT (POST ROOT) WITHOUT USING NANDROID? Are you refering to an unroot procedure or just reinstalling your OEM ROM?

I have not come across an unroot procedure, since the root procedure if fairly new to the click. Maybe j_rodd or another dev can elaborate on this.

as far as ging back to stock ROM that you had (if you flashed a custom one) is to make sure that you had a nandroid back up of the cusom ROM before you flashed. If you did not make a nandroid, go the the forum super firmware thread. Download and zip from SD the stock 1.34.44 ROM. You will however still be rooted unless you accept an OTA from Moto.
