To unlock a Motorola Cliq MB200 / MB220

You Need:

Read carefully all instruction posted on the original article by Yakk (google will help to traduce it), you will need read and follow every instruction like flash your phone with the recommended Firmware, you cannot change nothing on the firmware (like Radio) or this procedure will fail.

The Firmware recommended on these site is:

Branding: T-Mobile US
Version: 2.0.25
Android Version: 2.1
Secure Version: 0006
Bootloader Version: 05.18
WCDMA: 900/1700/2100
Requires RSD Lite 4.5.7.
Requires SBF (De)packer 1.2 to edit.

This Firmware contain a Radio with version 5036.

I'm not able to test if you still having 3g or not after this, this phone is not 3g compatible on my country.

Will this unlock be undone if you were to unroot your phone and go back to current stock firmware? Usually when I sell a phone, I unroot it, and I plan to get a new phone soon. I'm just curious if my phone could be sold as "unlocked."

yes, your phone is permanently unlocked if you did this correctly, ive done this and tested this with AT&T sim card(im a tmobile us customer) and can confirm that this works

It won't work on ATT 3G it's a different frequency that T-Mobile.

I am gonna test this method tomorrow with the hope of unlocking the cliq mb200. All who successfully unlocked their phones should donate to yakk in my opinion because he saves you from $$ for unlock code !

Awesome...it worked when I flashed back to T-Mobile US 1.32.20 rom. =)

I don't have an At&t sim to test, however, it did say unlock successful, but when I go to the dialer and type in the #073887* it prompts me for unlock code again. Is this normal?

Just to update :

5025 radio DOESNT work
5036 WORKS

I upgraded to 5036 from 5025 and the unlock worked fine. Mastermind made a radio for 5036:

Does this mean I can use a sim card from any carrier in my currently locked mobile?

I popped in a Nextel sim card, and although it should the Carrier Logo "Nextel" there was no service bars, "Emergency Calls Only" So I assume it is not for any carrier sim?
