This may be a dumb question, but why aren't there any 2.2 Froyo ROMs for the Cliq XT? I know there are a couple of half-baked ones based on CM6, but based on their descriptions it sounds like they barely offer any functionality. I recently purchased a Gravity Smart for my spouse, and it includes Froyo 2.2.2, and it seems like it'd make a great ROM for the XT. It's almost as though Froyo was deliberately avoided/overlooked/ignored.
Well, there used to be a CM6 port being done on simply android, but it was never finished as far as I know. When I started work on the phone, Gingerbread was out already; so I skipped froyo entirely - why port an old version when the new one is available?
The latest and greatest is usually a safe bet. I noticed that's the same one in the ROMs section here which I was referring to. It's a shame it was never finished. I just couldn't help but notice there are ten or so 2.1 ROMs and about as many 2.3 ROMs, but 2.2 was "skipped," and that 2.2 runs quite smooth on the Gravity Smart, and seems to have nearly all the features of 2.3. Might make a good compromise for those who have performance issues with Gingerbread.
Thanks as always Turl. Your latest development build is the best yet.
