I have one major question: currently I'm running 2.0.25 on my Cliq with a Kernel version of 2.6.29. I'm trying to unroot my phone, but I don't know which firmware to download. In this thread, it says, "NOTE: It is VERY important that you use the .shx that corresponds with the radio version on your phone. In short, if you don't know how to tell, ask somebody, because if you do the wrong one, you will mess up your phone."
So, do I download the firmware I wish to downgrade to, or do I download the firmware for the version it's currently running?

I think I really messed up my phone. I am a total noob and have a question. I'm in desperate need of help. I have a T-Mobile Cliq that I had upgraded to Android 2.1.5. I thought I could root the phone myself. I think I did it. However I loaded the wrong file on my phone and now have Blur_Version. 1.3.39.MB200.Orange.en.FR.

I want to go back to 2.1.5 but I'm totally lost when it comes to doing it. I have Android SDK Mgr & RSD Lite 4.9 downloaded on my computer. But when I run RSD Lite it does not recognize my phone. What am I doing wrong?

For RSD Lite to recognize your phone, it needs to be in USB init mode. It's like booting into recovery, except instead of holding the camera button, you use the menu button. You will end up in a blue screen, and RSD Lite will work then. The flash your file.

OH THX!! That was a huge help. It worked, however now my MotoBlur keeps stopping on me. Force close every 2 seconds. Anyway I can fix this?

Reboot into recovery (power + camara), and wipe data, that should help.

Man you guys are lifesavers. I've been having this problem for quite a while and I finally got it to work. I'm running Android 2.1.5.
I grabbed Root Checker from the Android Market to see if my phone was rooted and it says that it wasn't.

Now I'm a little bit worried about rooting my phone. I don't want to brick. What's the easiest way or method to rooting a Cliq?

[MENTION=3244467]Philmob[/MENTION] - the easiest way is to use z4root (you can find it on XDA-Developers or 4shared) Just download it and install it on your phone.
When its installed, find that app in your app drawer and run it.

guys, need your help...
my dext has just turned to crazy
by it self the menu going into dialer and it dial by it self
my dext is in virgin, still with the stock firmware 1.6 from (singtel) Singapore and not yet rooted.
Trying to rooted but it useless as i even cannot control the software (running by it self),
Doing the hardreset also result with nothing...
I still can turn to the booloader...
Question :
1. Would like to flash with the RSD but which rom will be compatible with singtel firmware ?
2. Is this due to the hardware or software problem?

hi guys, android is new to me, i buy dext in singapore, i use it in indonesia, my country. when i wipe/restore, on motoblur login screen, it always restarts. it happens all the time so i cannot use my phone. what do you think happen? and what is the solution you guys advice? because i'm not planning to singapore these times to claim the warranty. as info, i think my dext is still standard non rooted 1.5 version. thanks before..

just do the hard reset and it will turn to normal again.
dont forget to wipe all date before upgrade the rom
