i sucessfully rooted my cliq. using RSD Lite it didnt show my phone at all. after i went to the blue screen i loaded the shx and hit start without selecting my phone. it went through the whole process without showing any info on my phone.

just wana say thanks first for the hard work.
but my situation is that when i plugged in my phone to rsd lite and chose the .shx file and clicked start nothing happend my screen just stays on the main menu. It doesn't do anything, but now my usb notification doesn't pop up no more when I plug into laptop, everytime I plug my phone in it just charges, rsd lite can read it still and it shows this:

but im just stuck I dont know why rsd lite wont flash the .shx file to my phone and im on system version 1.1.31, firmware version 1.5.
Ive tried uninstalling programs and installed them again. Turned cliq off and back on but no luck. Any Suggestions?

I have that same issue on my Windows 7 64-bit. Some SHX files work but most repacked with SBF-Recalc do not. I ended up using XP for this.

I am so happy Motorola didn't put blur anywhere on the phone itself logo-wise or text-wise , because I hope someones makes a breakthrough into 2.0 without blur, I really don't care for blur I think the phone will run much smoother without it

I got better terminal to give me SU access. Root Explorer did not work though.

im runin it on windows 34-bit. but I have no access to a windows xp... ill keep that in mind though.. thanx. im still tryna figure sumn out. I factory reseted da cliq but still no luck its still givin the same situation.

its the bootloader screen. turn the phone off. open rsd lite. hold menu and then plug the phone into the computer. the blue bootloader screen will appear. follw the rest of the directions as in the first post. make sure debug is enabled.

that was easy... thanks! now i have to stop myself from getting too involved with customizing my applications again as i feel a flood of custom flashes coming down the road verrrrry shortly. Thanks again all!

First of all thank you everyone who contributed.
If someone tries it on his DEXT let us know! I know that it should work but just in case... I don't want a nice brick with a slider keyboard.
And secondly It would be great to know what languages are included in this flash.

I have a question: With getting full root through this way/method, can we flash custom recovery images such as amon_ra's latest recovery(1.3.2 I think) through the terminal or terminal emulator app?

makes sense to me that we should be able to since we have su permissions and terminal emulator should be able to let us then with mount -a and flash_image recovery xxx.img commands?

interesting to think about, if we can flash the custom recovery like amon_ra's latest then we have full and max root right and can flash any ROM we want? like 2.0 or 2.1 or Hero or whatever.

it doesn't matter. It flashes 1.1.31 no matter what.

Hi and thank you for posting this tutorial. I have a question, will you also be posting a tutorial on how to revert back to stock settings (no root?) The reason I ask is because lets say we have to send our phone back to tmobile to get a replacement phone, they wont accept it rooted, but they will accept it if it's reverted back (from my understanding.)

I'm a noob at this and I just want to make sure there is a way back and a noob friendly tutorial for it. I was able to follow the directions and installed the "adb" and "rsd lite" with no problem now I'm sorta hesitating on rooting the phone lol, i want to make sure 1st before i screw myself on my insurance.

Thanks all for all your hard work, it worked perfect for me. I have been following this from pretty much day one and tried to chime in when I had time. I have been removing some of the apps that I don't use and it would never let me remove before.

Now all I need is a WiFi Tether that works with the CLIQ.

Anyone know what apk is used for MySpace?

EDIT: Just needed to look a little closer MySpaceClient.apk
