Original Rom and Radio version per country
I'd like to gather information about the radio version vs rom version that people have on their Cliq/Dext before flashing a new radio / rom (recently bought). Please don't post what you have NOW on your phone if you already change the ROM and/or the radio. I'm only interested in the stock/factory info.
Afaik, you can get radio version in Config/About Phone --> Baseband version.
For example, my phone recently bought came with:
Country: Spain
Operator: Telefonica Movistar
Motoblur: Blur_Version.1.1.7.MB200.Telefonica.en.ES
Radio: 76XXC-63805012-SDCBALUM
I suppose (maybe someone can confirm if it is true or not), that if the radio version is the same in country X and USA, the USA radio update should be compatible with that country also. (Maybe some Brasilian/Mexican guys could help here is they can post their original version).Download my 1-click Recovery Flasher to flash a custom or stock recovery to your phone: Cliq, CliqXT, Backflip, ...

good Initiative
I have the non-3G issue because I updated with Tmobile's radio in an AMX version. These details are from the stock version of a colleague:
Coutry: Mexico
Operator: Telcel (AMX- America Movil)
Motoblur: Blur_Version.0.11.8.MB200.AmericaMovil.en.MX
Radio 76XXCC63805012-SDCBALUM
Original Radio version seems to be the same as in Spain...

Thanks. That is not the result I was expecting though... I was hoping that you Mx/Brasil guys maybe had a different version.
So it seems that we all had the same initial radio version, US, Europe, Latam. Argh that's bad...Download my 1-click Recovery Flasher to flash a custom or stock recovery to your phone: Cliq, CliqXT, Backflip, ...

youre welcome...
Well, at least Tmobile radio is different from Spain and Mexico.
may be an update for Europe could also solve our issues... it is more likely that you get an update than us in Mexico...

JM

Nope, I think mymomma8 just gave us data after the update (see motoblur version 1.3.18) -- maybe he wasn't concious he already updated.
76XXC-63805025-SDCBALUM is the updated radio version (I've flashed it myself).
As far as I've been looking arround googling for it, there are some example that state that 76XXC-63805012-SDCBALUM was also the radio version of original US cliqs:

This turns down the theory I had; I was hoping that Latam Dext would have a different radio version than USA, which could have explain that the new radio would be "safe" (in funcionaly working meaning) to people having the *5012* original version. Anyway, it seems it's not like that :-(.Download my 1-click Recovery Flasher to flash a custom or stock recovery to your phone: Cliq, CliqXT, Backflip, ...

I think he means safe to flash the original radio
- 03-02-2010, 02:23 AM #9
By safe I mean if you flash it, your phone will still work and operate normally on your operator network.
Obviously, the new radio can be flashed on T-Mobiles cliq and your T-Mobile phone will still work (voice, text, 2g and 3G, wifi,...).
What people have also seen, is that if you are using a Latam Dext in Mexico or Brasil at least, the 1.3.18 radio update is not recommended because 3G won't be working anymore (that is what I meant by "unsafe" (excuse my english, I'm french actually ;-), maybe the word isn't used in a correct manner here).Download my 1-click Recovery Flasher to flash a custom or stock recovery to your phone: Cliq, CliqXT, Backflip, ...

Could it mean that original stock radio was common for every country while the update is optimized for each country?
or Could it mean that the non-3G problem is not in the radio itself but in the other part of the ROM.
As far as I know, the process of scanning the "air" for a 3G signal is time and battery consuming, so maybe, at some point, the tMobile optimization only focuses on the frequencies in which Tmobile provides 3G...
Just some thoughts... if any one find them useful and can do something about it, hopefully they could turn in to a useful hint...

i have the original radio and have tried flashing it. @andreban from brazil has also tried flashing it for me. it does not flash! it seems the bootloader is not letting us go backwards with the radio. i pulled the radio from an update from Orange France.
the original radio is: 76XXC-63805012-SDCBALUMLast edited by j_r0dd; 03-02-2010 at 10:36 AM.

Here's the brazilian version of motoblur and baseband (radio):
Country: Brasil
Operator: Claro (AmericaMovil)
Motoblur: Blur_Version.0.11.10.MB200.AmericaMovil.en.BR
Baseband: 76XXC-63805012-SDCBALUM
Claro Brasil operates UMTS mostly at 850MHz. I recently flashed the T-Mobile 1.3.x stock rom on my Dext and installed the 1.3.18 official Motorola update (with radio.img), and I can't use 3G here anymore. Tried to downgrade using Telcel firmware (which is mainly 850MHz) and bricked my phone. God bless Skrilax_CZ for the 1.3.18 firmware he uploaded right on the day I bricked my Dext, at least I can use EDGE.
Cliq radio hardware is multiband (850/1900/2100), I can't understand why statically limit it to any freq. Some user configurable radio frequency selector would be nice...
