While running a custom rom and custom firmware i decided to factory reset my phone, however now the phone hangs on boot(in verbose it prints security on, fastboot disabled). In the recovery menu i have the option to restart, update.zip, or wipe. Right now i think the best thing to do would be to load a recovery image, but i have no way of getting stuff onto the SD. Assuming i cross that bridge what should i do with the recovery image? Will it be able to reinstall the firmware? without error? EDIT: I'm running a motorola cliq. EDIT2: RSD lite and ADB will not recognise the device. RSD sees it but says "TCI-all not ready" when trying to load a rom.

Reason: Thought i was posting in cliq only forums, need to specify more
i have tried running this procedure on two different computers(7 and xp) and each time ADB has failed to find my phone. The computer knows its there but none of the apps that interact with it can do anything, including ADB and RSD lite. Rsd complains of a TCI-ready error. Is my phone really dead. What have other people done with unbootable models? I cannot plug the phone into the wall, and then into a computer to trick it into mounting properly, tried several times and the phone turns off when the USB cords switch.
held menu while booting to force the phone into a usb compatible mode which RSD liked

you don't need RSD if you already have RAmons recovery on there and you can access it. Ur best bet is to get yourself an adapter for your microSD card and get it connected to your computer and put another rooted FW on it (EX. handler 1.5)
The adapters are cheap, and have saved me a couple of times! They aren't a bad investment compared to spending money on another cliq. Then try again with your project.
Heck you can even buy them at ur local walmart for less than $20....
thanks for the tip, that probably would have worked. However holding menu while the phone starts mounts the phone in USB debug mode(pretty much universally saving your ass), something i couldn't find in weeks of searching and eventually started using droid guides. Just happened to carry over. thx though
