No no, I already installed the update. I'm trying to flash the recovery image. It's not working.

EDIT: Nevermind, uninstalling and reinstalling the Moto drivers and SDK fixed it.

I downloaded the files, renamed the first to Update.zip and copied it to the sd card. Rebooted into recovery, did alt+w to wipe, rebooted, did alt+L and told it to update using Update.zip.

I see a lot of text on the screen but im getting:

    E: Multiple firmware images
    E: Can't store radio image
E: failure at line 74: write_radio_image package: radio.img Installation aborted

Please tell me I didn't brick it haha. I eventually pulled the battery because it was in an endless loop it seemed.

    Thanks everyone

UPDATE: I rebooted and i was actually in the ORANGE version. I ran adb and told it to flash the recovery.img and pulled the battery. Tried to go into recovery and im getting a USB Fastboot: v0.5, etc. all on a blue screen. Ideas?

Another Update: I actually renamed the kb7sqi file to update.zip and when i tried to get into recovery it just sat there. I renamed it to the orig filename and now im flashing it to the cliq.

Update 3: It seems to have worked, its rooted! A friend and myself re-read through the instructions and eventually figured everything out!

    Install Image Recovery;

    adb shell .. flash_image recovery / SDcard / recovery.img

Verify the Root, this enabled ...

A little confused here. I'm running kb7's 1.4.8 and it is rooted and using 1.5.2.2 recovery. Can I go back to older builds using this method?

    Question Recovery.img... confirmation or not?

I just adb'ed the recovery.img, but I get no confirmation of success. Cmd just goes to a new prompt, no messages at all. I don't want to go forward for fear of a bricktastrophe. Can someone confirm if this is correct?

    Thanks!

    Ryan

    ---edit---

nvm, I rebooted into recovery and it seems to have worked. I continued on, and now I get stuck on the white Moto splash indefinitely. I've wiped, flashed HE1.5, wiped again, nothing. I'll start over and try again... Any pointers in the meantime?

    Thanks.

I am getting the following when I try to apply the update:

    Finding update package...
    Opening update package...
    Verifying update package...
    E:No digest for Update.zip
    E:Verification failed
    Installation aborted.

    Any help?

ok never mind seemed to have fixed that problem by just redownloading and recopying the files. However, when I try to run adb I get the following error:

error opening /sdcard/recovery.img: No such file or directory

    Any help here?

Edit: have been reading the other posts, I have all the correct directories open and adb is properly installed. I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall sdk and see if that helps...

Edit: Aha okay I am figuring stuff out, in the custom recover menu with the moto background now...

Edit: Okay I'm pretty convinced its rooted now. thank you Handler Exploit. It was a lot of trial and error with me, but it does work. Anyone with questions, I will probably be able to help after going through that. My pitfall: Make sure you run the adb command WHILE you are still in the recover menu RIGHT AFTER you run update.zip, DO NOT reboot. You will also get no confirmation when you enter the adb command, it is supposed to be that way apparently.

After reflashing KB7SQI 1.4.8, I can't log in to MotoBlur. I get a "There were errors getting data from the Blur service" message. Help?

    Solution

Have you checked your APN configuration? It's possible to do the motoblur thing over wifi also. While on the motoblur login screen, pres the Options button, this brings the menu to configure the connection.

    Hope this helps.

I reset my APN settings to default, still didn't work. I also tried WiFi. Still didn't work. Thanks for trying though.

    recovery image

It says in the instructions to use the stock recovery, but I currently have Amon Ra's recovery installed. How do I revert back without a nandroid backup? I got the phone prerooted so I never had the original recovery. Sorry if there is an easy solution I'm just getting started with Android.

    Thanks!

The reason it says stock recovery is because most people that are using this don't have root yet. Just use Amon Ra's recovery but make sure you follow the steps and flash the new recovery to your phone.
