Cliq 1.5 to 2.1 missing features, functionality after update?
I updated my USA Cliq from 1.5 to 2.1. Using the official Motorola provided rom. After the update I did a hard reset.
The following is a list of stuff that worked with 1.5 but now is missing with 2.1
Browser - on 1.5 in the stock Browser i could Menu > Exit. There is no Exit option on the Browser that came with 2.1
Browser - on 1.5 in Browser Settings I could set customer user agent, this option is missing from 2.1
Alarm Clock in 1.5 let me select any of the ring tones on my phone, with 2.1 I can select default ringtone or a 1 of 6 alarm sounds. for a specific example on 1.5 I had Noisy One (ringtone) as my alarm and Bell Phone as my default ringtone. in 2.1 I do not have all of the ringtones available for my alarm.
Unlock on 1.5 I could unlock by press the menu (hard) button, 2.1 I have to use my finger to unlock. I miss the hardware unlock.
Vibrate/Ring on 1.5 I had my phone set to ring an vibrate, but when the silence switch was on had it set to silent without vibrate. With 2.1 I can either have vibrate on or off for both ring and silent but not choose it separately.
T-mobile Hotspot utility was present on 1.5 missing from 2.1 and not on the Market.
Shazam app on 1.5 had unlimited tagging. It's missing from 2.1 Market version says 5 tags per month.

you have to understand that you UPDATED it, and 2.1 is much different from 1.5. theres a lot more to expect than that 1.5
i say if those are the only things youre missing, just get used to 2.1 cuz its faster and a lot more.
you can always go back to 1.5 though if you want

If you want music tagging, try sound hound. It is included in your music player.

yep, those features are missing, but they can easily be replace with eclair.
no exit on the browser?Try a taskiller
Shazam not unlimited? Try sound hound
Stock Alarm Clock sucks?Get an alarm app
Why do you need the tmobile hotspot utility? Free wifi is everywhere and so is 3g connection. Access setttings->Wireless and Networks for more detailed info.
There is no hardware unlock to prevent even more accidental unlocks. If you really want a hardware unlock, then just disable the lockscreen all together by hitting Settings->Location and Security->nucheck Screen Lock Box
And for your ringtone/vibrate issue, its kinda hard to help you there, considering motorola blasted this function into little pieces from their rom to begin with.

The missing exit function on the stock browser is annoying. I deleted it and now use Dolphin Browser HD. It's kinda slow on the Cliq but at least it has an exit button.

you could use skyfire.. it's not as pretty as dolphin,
but it works extremely well, and a long press of the back key not only exits, but gives you an option to clear your browsing history at the same time.. great for if you're doing banking from the phone browser.... or porn... but mostly banking LOLPhone: Cliq Titanium (rooted)
Operator: T-Mobile, US
ROM:j_r0dd's "the official 1.1.1"
Recovery: J_r0dd's "mb200 1.7.6. (FINAL)"

LOL. I actually tried the latest version of Skyfire on my Cliq this morning but couldn't get it to open. Just a black screen on start. Tried reinstalling but no go.
