You could always try recalibrating your battery. Instructions are in the stickies. Works for some, not so much for others, but, by the sounds of things you got nothing to lose by trying it.
I wouldn,t get another phone, just a battery. Less work, you don,t have to root a battery like you would a new phone lol

Well yeah, there is that, but I've tried a couple of other batteries with the same result, however, it seems to be charging OK from my laptop's USB port, weird

Or not, it's just dropped a % grrr f*cking thing

How hot does the phone get?

What speed is your phone running when charging? If you have it OCd then make sure it is not overheating when charging otherwise it will lose charge rather than gain it. Charging from USB could fall under a different profile and/or is a lower current than the mains charger so might not heat up as much anyway.

Also - use a task killer before charging and make sure your screen is off.

it used to get really hot, but now not so much

haven't overclocked it at all since the last wipe and re-flash of jr0ds rom

I do use the task killer and make sure the screen is off too, sometimes it charges up to a point then doesn't charge anymore, other times it gets up to a point then drops and other times it just stays the same, it's really weird.

thanks for your reply by the way, it is much appreciated

It sounds to me like the charging circuitry in the phone. It sounds like it's definitely a circuitry issue, but these batteries have circuitry in them to report back on charge state, condition, &c. so you never know which is bad. Having the same behaviour in multiple batteries suggests it's not the battery, but to be absolutely sure it would be good to test the battery in another phone. The BP6X is used in a lot of different Motos--if you don't have another compatible phone see if one of your friends does. If you can find one, see if they'll charge the battery for you and tell you how it acts.

If the phone is still under warranty, flash back to stock and take it to a dealer. If not, get a battery charger and charger them externally. It'll be a bit more inconvenient, but that might be what it takes...

I would try to get an exchange if possible i think.

Try charging from USB with phone off. I assume you wiped battery stats in recovery menu?

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'm going to get them to give me a new phone, does anyone know where I can get the stock Orange UK rom from please? If not, I'll just wipe it and say it's bricked or something like I did last time, but still lol
