How do you root a Motorola Dext/Cliq? (Android 1.5)
Hi everyone,
I recently discovered that there was an easy way to root the Motorola Dext/Cliq just by downloading a app from the android market called Z4Root, unfortunately, it is no longer available.
Does anyone have an suggestions on how you can root a Motorola Dext/Cliq easily?

The direct answer to your question is found in:
[ROOT] Universal Cliq and Dext rooting method (Safe: Won't break 3g)
For the record, the method is not really "easy" but you will probably want to do all the steps it takes to complete it anyway, in order to install a new "recovery" and new firmware.
The best advice however, is to start reading at the following:
The Bell Mobility Dext Bible - How to ROOT, flash a 2.1 ROM and keep 3G
The 2nd link will teach you most of what you will want to know from beginner up to where you can load ROMs and restore.Last edited by Mobile01; 07-31-2011 at 11:18 PM.
