Root and when trying to get into recovery mode, it gets stuck on the triangle with dat phone lying down. it's been over 39 minutes and still at it. what happened to the menu that enables you to install zip, etc.?????

The triangle w/phone is the stock recovery. What it means is that you haven't flashed a custom recovery yet.

It also means that you can't flash custom ROMs with a stock recovery.
If you did root the device download [MENTION=3081367]adlx[/MENTION]'s 1-Click Recovery Flasher (free on the Market) and flash a custom recovery.

I have downloaded tmo-morrison-viper-1.1.31-P3-supermonster-customer but haven't flash it yet. Do you think I should go ahead with it. The one @ motofan is tmo-morrison-mamba-2.0.Psupermonster-customer_2.0.

Well at least I've tried so far but couldn't find exact custom recovery for this phone.

That's why we told you to download [MENTION=3081367]adlx[/MENTION]'s 1-Click Recovery Flasher from the Market. After you Root your Cliq, open Recovery Flasher, Allow Superuser Permission, and click one of the recoveries to flash. It will download it and flash it for you. For starters I recommend j_r0dds 2.0 recovery.
After you have it flashed then you can go into the Cliq/ROM section and choose which ROM you want to use.
There are a lot of different ROMs. Some are MotoBlur ROMs and Some are MotoBlurred "Based" which have Blur removed to improve speed. There is also CM6 (outdated - FROYO) and CM7 (Gingerbread - up to date = recommended) it all depends on how advanced you are willing to take this.
To flash a ROM: Download it. Move the .zip of the ROM to the root of your sdcard (do not put it inside a folder) reboot into recovery, Create a Nandroid Backup (optional but recommended) Wipe (Factory/Data, Dalvik Cache & Cache - if you are using j_r0dds 2.0 recovery there is a "Wipe-All" button) Then flash the ROM.
Usually first time booting a new ROM will take about 5mins.

UPDATE:

Phone is now in Motorola System Recovery. Tried to install update.zip but getting following errors:

E:Wrong Digest: system/usr.keychars/gwerty.kcm.bin
E:Verification failed

Installation aborted.

flashed recovery image manually using adb and now the phone is stuck in moto logo. what's next? Really wanna learn from my own mistakes... sorry if I waste ur time for not being careful.

Tried again to flash RSDLite but with errors and rsdlite freezes. Had to use taskmanager to exit. [MENTION=3234618]phoenixsong6[/MENTION]

ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5 & Blur_Version.1.3.20.MB200.Orange.en.FR as update.

Steps:

1. SuperOneClickv2.1.1-ShortFuse (success)
2. Alt=(EEBLUROFF) (Want to get rid of this)
3. Set USB to debug mode
4. ADB Shell/SU (Success)
5. Flash Image & Recovery manually (success)
6. Exit/Exit
7. Restart

Phone now stuck in moto logo. I let it there for almost 1 hr but no luck. Had to remove battery. I suppose I have to flash stock firmware with RSDLite, right? If there's stock Motorola Cliq stock, is it possible to flash that? I don't like this Blur register with google account. Found a stock Blur @ firmware section but I'm sure it's gonna require me to register the blur.
