can't root my cliq

Im new in rooting motorola cliq

i tried the The Dudes Root SHX and Custom ROM for CLIQ and DEXT v0.4.1 but im having a problem using rsd lite..,

when i choose the shx file then click start... my phone will turn in bootloader but in rsd lite when im looking at the process and wait it it shows "fail" then my phone is stock in bootloader and doesnt continue in setup wizard

i installed adb / driver / jdk / all files than needed i can run adb at cmd..

please help tnx

Are you a Cliq or Dext user?

If it is a cliq try either superoneclick or z4root and it should root it and then you can go from there as far as putting a custom recovery and roms on the phone.

z4root will only work on 2.1.
Upgrade to 2.1 first then use z4root
Download adlx's 1-Click recovery flasher ( free on the market )
Flash a recovery.
Download a ROM and flash it with your new recovery.
