After installation of last updating I can not put " vulnerable Recovery " what to come in Open Recovery v1.37. Download a file under the link, I unpack, I put update.zip and OpenRecovery in a root of a card of memory, download vulnerable_recovery_only_RAMDLD90_78, I establish through RSD Lite, I reboot phone in Recovery, I apply on update.zip, writes
    - install from sdcard...
    finding update package...
    opening update package...
    verifying update package...
e:eocd marker occurs after start of eocd e:signature verification failed installation aborted E:Can't open/cache/recovery/command

    In what a problem???

The link on the first page for Milestone isn't valid anymore since it still points out to modmymoto.com.

However if you change modmymoto to modmymobile it works again. So the link should be

ModMyMobile Forums - Downloads - Open Recovery 1.37

    instead of

cell phone news motorola find at modmymoto.com

    Can you change that Skrilax_CZ?

Skrilax_CZ, something that I noticed is that numerous times people get stuck on Motorola logo using OpenRecovery but it works fine with GOT.

Maybe the new format is not working so well or GOT do something else during restore that the new version OpenRecovery doesn't?

edgardcastro - explain better - you can't be stucked on the logo as you boot into the vulnerable recovery first.

Looks like edgardcastro is talking about new format for nandriod backup/restore But I prefer to use OpenRecovery (not GOT) and never have issue to be stucked on the logo. Just carefully follow recommendations to do wipe if it needed (before or after restore) and all will be OK.

Well I didn't encouter any problem on the 1.37 (not 1.30 - 1.36). As Alex mentions, this is probably that you didn't do wipe if it was needed.

Hey! So yeah, I know the wipe mantra thing. I'm a ROM cooker myself. It's not that.

I can reproduce fairly consistently the behavior. If I flash a SBF, vunerable recovery and try to use OpenRecovery 1.37 for nandroid restores, it always get stuck at at Motorola logo. If I get the same backup, same conditions and use GOT's, it works.

Might be something that the new nandroid script is doing (or lacking doing), but it's fairly common. More than half of the people that use my ROM says that they have problem with OpenRecovery 1.37 but works at the first when they try to use GOT.

Funny thing is... If you do a first restore with GOT, get your ROM going, and then afterwards you use OpenRecovery for further restores, it works.

Which partitions your ROM consists of?

There are also some serious bugs in the 1.14 Open Recovery nandroid (which is used by GOT). There were problems with restoration of dot beginning folders / files and cache partition was never restored. But I can't really say why there is a problem with it now.

I use only the boot, bpsw and system partition for the nandroid backup of the ROM. Shouldn't be a problem with the data/cache/cust partititons because they are all empty (i mounted before the restore and checked, just to make sure).

I've done the exactly same procedure: Wiped all, flashed with Brazilian Retail 03.05, VR, wiped all again, and restored the backup with GOT 1.04a and repeated the procedure with OpenRecovery 1.37.

Then I've done some "system dump" using adb from recovery (without letting it boot into the new restored system) to check for differences with the following:

    dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd0 of=/sdcard/mbmloader.img
    dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd1 of=/sdcard/mbm.img
    dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd6 of=/sdcard/lbl.img
    dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd13 of=/sdcard/boot.img
    dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd14 of=/sdcard/bpsw.img
    dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd18 of=/sdcard/system.img
    md5sum *.img >> img-md5.out

The results were that all partitions BUT system were equal. So no prob on boot/bpsw/lbl/mbm.

I've also noticed that a backup made with OR which fails to restore with OR works with GOT if I generate the nandroid.md5.

Nonono, system partition will have different MD5 most probably, as it's formatted prior to flashing on 1.37 and not on 1.14 (GOT), and it's a yaffs2 partition and the writing procedure is different and not having to be written exactly the same each time. A way how to compare two yaffs2 images is to compare file by file using diff when having them extracted.

It could be a problem with the unyaffs in 1.37 (it's different one as in 1.14) (input arguments as well). Can you upload the system partition which fails with OR 1.37 and works with GOT?

Hi Skrilax_CZ, I'm having problems trying to load the Droidx V3 for my XT701. I'm having a "skip" log when i try to nandroid restore the rom and when i reboot, nothing changes.

    This is the verbose:

Partition boot not backed up, skipping.
Partition bpsw not backed up, skipping.
Partition lbl not backed up, skipping.
Partition logo not backed up, skipping.
Partition system checksum file, missing, skipping.
Partition data not backed up, skipping.
Partition cache not backed up, skipping.
Partition cust not backed up, skipping.
Partition cdrom not backed up, skipping.
Partition ext2 not backed up, skipping.
    Restoring finished
    Done.

Im new to this and i might be wrong, but every tutorial remarks to copy the rom into nandroid/adbrecovery and the new backup format is nandroid/openrecovery... does exists any compatibility problems? i see the backups are in diferent format...

Am i missing something? i also wiped and tried again... nothing changed...

    Thanx in advance...
