if you are trying to use something similar to the telus rom, then yes, you might have carrier issues, which easily has something to do with sms and 3G.

personally for nordic countries here, 3G/HSPA and sms services are fine.. good signal and fine audio, so radio problems are nonexisting for me..

As i cannot test, i will not try to make a rom that is telus based, as that very easily complicate testing..
and as there are solutions for telus phones, you can just use those provided there..
I found a message on how to do it, on the xda forum, as example he tested it with this mod..

it seems not to be perfect, as the guy ended up rolling back, although he installed the 3G fix, and which i dont have a link for. someone else might need to post it, as i havent looked for that patch.

I've tried it but GPS does not work and I can't change the keyboard layout ( I have AZERTY Keyboard ) even with open recovery script ...

I also notice a GUI bug with HTC apps, on contacts or album the slider on the bottom is not correctly draw ...

graphics = not going to be fixed.. Desire is 840 and Milestone is 854 in resolution, so its only going to be fixed if someone decides to fix apk with graphics, and im not a graphical person :-(

GPS works fine, but if you can explain what you did test, i can check it..
I have tried it with compass solutions from Market, and CoPilot and no problems here, with anything?

Hi , ok my bad , I gave working link to dext3r yesterday (it was pretty late for me and pretty 'early' for him I was thinking he would update his thread with the link ...

Phone apps works witch means 3g / edge should work too as well as sms etc . ( I dotn use gprs at all so I wouldnt know)

enableing usb debugging ( needed for adb ) seems to break access to sdcard ( for me ) there must be a work around , I 'rerooted' this with the new SU .apk but for some reson I m still gettign issues in adb shell ...

Anyways this one works and its very smooth ... all thanks to dext3r ...

This files should solve radio and 3G on brazilian and maybe Canada roms as they are compatible with my operator.
Ive used adb shell to do this from sd unzipped file

Copy the 5 files from the zip and set the files permissions to 664 otherwise it wont work.

Permission for linux and android are explained Here

Would be nice than someone w more experience than me do us the favor of convert this to an update.zip so we can use roms from any operator and fix it easily

A easy fix for MMI is put a plus "+" symbol before the dial number, this force the phone to send code. This is an usual issue for a rom not based on your operator, some operators dont put this requirement on the phone dial code as is not required for network operation.
So you must dial +*101# instead of *101# and Same trick for any service number.
My English is not soo good but i think that is easy to understand, please let me know if it work.

i reverted back to stock after one day since,I could not get wifi & bluetooth working. these are the things i noticed:-
*wifi turn on , but says "obtaining address.." and then fails to connect. Even after turning off SD card also no difference.
*Similar thing happens for blue tooth, it is able to detect my motorola hx1, will pair also. but does not connect :-( ( note that my hx1 connects without any problem to other mobile)
*camera was not working with htc app ( but using camera zoom fx, it was working fine)
*videos were getting played nicely ( using yxplayer found in market, i was able to play even mkv files in sense)
*music was little choppy at times
please help out in bluetooth connecting to headset , i would be very happy to use sense ui on milestone..(i can still live without wifi/default camera not working/music being choppy,etc)

this is normally ok, you simply just make sure SDcard notification is disabled and reboot, and it works fine. that works, i guess for others too..

Sadly i have the same wish, but looking at the actual problem, it does not look like the api will support the handling motorola does, so unless the api can be changed somehow, it will probably not be fixed that easily.
PS : I got the Moto H12 headset, i really want to usee!
I can only say that in the "zeusdroid" image, bluetooth was not working at all, so i havent got the chance to ask them about it.

and thanks for the heads up on zoomfx, i will try it, as i personally also miss having a working camera..
That again is also because api framework for Moto is tightly integrated with other apps like the "mediagallery" which cannot run without disabling vital senseui functions.

that wish causes a chain effect...
Launcher depends on calendar, calendar on clock, clock on weatcher and weather on launcher and network, where network depends on mobile and bluetooth.

Im still not sure, any widget from senseui can be used seperately, unless you recode the contents and move resources around, like seen with the IME modules floating getting a senseui dialer..

So its the full package or nothing i guess.
and that said, if you live without BT headset and workaround for wifi/sdcard, maybe it works out? :-)
