May be I am vrong, but memhack just move dalvikcache from data partirion to cache partition.
If i uderstand correctly in CyanogenMod dalvikcache alredy in cahe partition.
So looks like memhack is not neded in the recovery menu.

89luca89,
Sorry, something still unclear for me. I have CyanogenMod installed on my Milestone and did not applied memhack, however dalvik-cache directory alredy lockated in /cache. Does it means that I need to do some additional actions with dalvik-cache to be "true" memhack?
And two more questions. Your recovery is based on OpenRecovery 1.42, however only version 1.37 is public (at least on tjis forum). What is the change log for 1.42? And where to get 1.42?

It's not a leak. It's on gitorious and it's "current development version". Not really recommending using it as a base version for a mod - some bugs might occur.
However if in this mod you're playing with the startup scripts when booting normally you can add the "autoreboot to OR" script, so you don't have to press the "apply update.zip" every time when booting to recovery. However it's a hack atm and will prevent automatic applying of OTA updates.Last edited by Skrilax_CZ; 10-01-2010 at 04:59 PM.

nice job guys
Skrilax_CZ : As 1.42 was never really made public (eventho its @ and-developers already) any reason you havent 'officialy' released it ?
Some bugs we should be aware of before using ?
Also 89luca89 & Azhad would be great if you guys could post ( at least some ) change logs from 1.37 to 1.42 , my understanding was that there is a way to make the 1.42 recovery 'persistant' sort of speak

Changelog is in the gitorious with the source. The 1.37 -> 1.42 changes are here:
Not really bugs I'm aware of now - just the hack I mentioned above and things I haven't done yet in the "vanilla" ORCode:================ Version 1.42 ================ Features - possibility to automatically boot into OpenRecovery on Milestone (see INSTALL) when rebooting into the recovery - deleting a nandroid backup has now confirmation dialog Changes - allows spaces in nandroid folder names, scripts and updates - nandroid will automatically determine the format regardless of the directory - envirmental variables changed - removed command handling in "full" version - removed scriptrunner script to run the menu scripts; handled in the binary now Bugfixes - running a script is now like calling system function in C; fixes quotes issues inside arguments - terminal variables are now exported only into OpenRecovery terminal ================ Version 1.40 ================ Features - terminal colors customizable for OR console - themes can be changed from menu (the name is in file /res.*/name) Changes - terminfo - different handling of keyboard mapping script - menu title can now have different color (see ui.prop for stock theme) - several more escape characters for OR console implemented Bugfixes - console escape sequence parsing debugging fixed - minor fixes

Hi all, I'm completely new to modding phones and was hoping for a pointer from someone here...
Is there is step by step for people like me to install open recovery to my Milestone? I'm trying to follow this guide: AndroidianiOpenRecovery - androidiani-openrecovery - Project Hosting on Google Code, but I can't seem to get to the 'Eclair modding menu' (the very first step... pathetic I know).
Is there another step-by-step that someone can point me to? I have no idea if I need to wipe out my phone, get a special program that installs all this, etc. BUT I'm very eager to get this mod installed, so any help is much appreciated!!!

I just got a 32Gb Class4 Micro SD for my Milestone, but when i try to split it using this OR, it shows that the location 31900 is out of the device /dev/block/mmcblk0.
I changed the app2sd script trying to make de location to be "inside the device" i decreased the final number to 31800(error), 700, 600 and 500 ( error too) when 31400, the creation of ext2 partition never ends....
May my SD be damaged?? is brand new
ANYONE can help me???Last edited by romabr; 10-02-2010 at 04:44 PM.
