Root for Telus Milestone?
Any progress getting root on the Telus variant of the Milestone? Or do we have to wait for the 2.1 update to surface?

Hey good luck in your quest unfortunately as you may know that locked bootloader is pretty much the priority atm , and with the lack of telus sbf , very few are willing to experiment not to mention , we need Canadian devs/ users/testers , I wonder how many Telus have sold since its release ..

Well , yea obviously it is still early and you can resell and lose 50 to 100 max , imagine me I bought a Euro one not caring about the Qwertz ( witch I remapped to QWERTY at least it s rootable but now seeing all they do with there Droid I am so frustrated , its goin on eBay as soon as I can accept I will los at least 200$ ( bought it in january ) so 100$ / month is hard to digest )
I can only hope you are right , so far I tested some Hex edited SBF and eventho it tried to flash , phone got stucked in the bootloader with DEA error 1 , and I am 100% sure the mods to the SBF were not critical all that was modded is the bootloader inside the CG42 , so worst case I should have get a distorted bootlogo , but was almost a brick .. I sure hope sbfrecalc saves the day tho .

well technically ( I think ) hex editing the file doesnt modify anything , since the sbf wasnt evn decompiled in the first place or does it ?
I say so becaue when i try to parse an sbf file and recompile RSD lite gives me a something like 'failed ...ram loader boot .... ' at the first step when its trying to load the image while when I flash an hex edited sbf file , it will succeed until it reaches the cg I modded (code group 42 in my case ), if you know of any ways around this I ll be glad to test itLast edited by DAGr8; 03-10-2010 at 11:20 AM. Cause the checksums will not match since you edit it. That triggers the error.
I believe the SBF Recalc is not updated and miscalculates the checksums for everything, including RAMDLD.
