Hello friends,
I have a Milestone with 2.1 and Roth,
I tried to install the open recovery 1.14
And I click the Apply update.zip and writes like this:
Install from sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifying update package ...
E: signature verification failed
installation aborted.
What should I do?
Thanks for the help!
You need to flash the vulnerable recovery first before you can install open recovery.
You can find the vulnerable recovery sbf at the end of this page. RSD Lite is used to flash the vulnerable recovery and it can be found on this page.
Download and install the USB drivers for your phone from this page if you haven't already. Reboot PC if necessary.
Turn off your phone and then boot to the bootloader by pressing d-pad up + power button. Once you see the black screen with white text, connect your phone to your PC. After connecting it you may see Windows installing drivers for it so wait for the driver installation to finish. After that open RSD Lite (install it if you haven't already and then open it). In RSD Lite browse to the vulnerable recovery sbf (if its in a zip file, extract it first) then select your phone from the list, and then click the start button. It will only take a few seconds to flash the vulnerable recovery. Once it shows the "rebooting phone" message and you see your phone turning off, press and hold the d-pad up key, so that it boots to the bootloader again. After it reboots to the bootloader, you should see "PASS" in RSD Lite which means you have successfully flashed the vulnerable recovery. Now you can try installing open recovery again.
