Okay, well which aspects of my phone specifically are motoblur?
cause the status update widget is really useful, as is facebook integration with my contacts. I'm guessing i'd lose those?

Why not just use google sync? Facebook" integration" just consists of using a link to their profile and putting it in their contact info. Try looking at an app called facebook sync.

i see j_r0dd has released preclair beta 4. he had pmed me and told me this should get 3d working on the backflip.... going to rebase my rom off of b4.

Also to you people who would rather have motoblur. DONT waste my time asking questions. iwould much rather spend that time working on the rom.

Deciding which ROM to use. I have a couple questions. I don't use Motoblur (the home app) but I do kind of like the auto-backup of contacts.

1) Can anybody offer a tangible figure as to how performance is affected? Is it really a big difference if I'm not using the Motoblur launcher or widgets anyway?

2) Since this doesn't have the Motoblur auto-backup, what's a good way to backup contacts? I know it might seem silly that I don't know this, but it was always taken care of.

Google sync thats built into the operating system takes over for backing up contacts.

Thank you a lot! i've been waiting for this rom for a wile. I can't stand motoblur. Any way i think j_r0dd did a great work and i'm currently using his b3 preclair.
I can't wait 'till you update to b4 so i can flash it to my flip.

B4 is on its way.. have to wait until J_r0dd releases it officially then we will be good to go with hardware acceleration.

At least in my case, Google Sync no longer works on contacts in j_r0dd's b3 ROM. Hasnt worked since the first ROM either.
All of my contacts that were there before I went to 2.1 came back just fine but any new contacts I make do not go to my Google address book even though Google is in fact checked in my Contacts settings for new contacts.
Any new contact I make goes straight to Motoblur and nothing else...
Still dont know if its just me or not since no one responded to my post about it yesterday.

Might wanna make sure yours is working before wiping the whole thing out..
