So, as of this morning, I have been using 2.1 along with j_r0dd's MT patch, and the SetCPU settings rht_rv posted for the absolute best experience I've had using my Backflip so far. This ROM is fantastic and I am loving it, as far as "feel" goes, I think my Backflip now performs (with all of my apps installed, etc.) as well as my HTC Aria did when I still had it.

Thumbs up to itzmcgin and j_r0dd for AWESOME work. It's much appreciated, glad I have found this ROM to be so stable and effective. I really just don't like Motoblur myself, no need for it.

I've been using 2.1 since this morning as well with great results. Also, to anyone who may be interested, j_r0dd has released 2 new kernels that work incredibly well with this ROM.
    [ROM] Preclair v1.6 jit/netfilter/swap/ext3/ext4/tun [2.12.11]

I installed the MT kernel and at first thought I made a mistake! After going back into SetCPU and adjusting the freq's, I am a firm believer that this is the BEST kernel to use with this ROM!

I hope that my above post wasn't misleading... The link that I provided in my post was for 2 new kernels that j_r0dd posted . One with MT built in and one without. The speed and stability of the MT kernel is the best that I have experienced yet. I actually scored a 280 on Quadrant.

This is not to be confused with the MT patch that allows MT with the current kernel installed with preclair 1.6 ROM or GINtech 2.1 ROM.

I did not make any changes to CPU speed, or any other "major" phone settings I can think of. Everything went well, got my accounts set up, apps restored, etc., until tonight, when the battery was down to around 25% or so. My phone just started randomly rebooting, at first with random causes (turning on camera, enabling APN, disabling WiFi; all of these caused a reboot (not to the M screen, just to the eclair GINtech screen)). After a while, the phone went into a reboot loop, and then just hung up. I finally rebooted it into recovery and charged it for a while, it worked fine after that.

Seems rather bizarre, any thoughts as to why this would be happening?
2.0 was still giving me random reboots all day today, flashed to 2.1 a few minutes ago. Seems to be working fine. Thanks for the great work!

    Hi itzmcgin!

Firstly, I would like to thanks you and j_r0dd for the amazing work that your are doing for Backflip. You are really giving us a longer life for ours cell phones

Just for record, I have a Brazilian Backflip (VIVO) and I'm using your 2.1 ROM with MT kernel just posted by j_r0dd and everything is working beautifully. I have never seen the cellphone so responsive. Also, It's amazing how the battery is being drained so slowly even with data on (EDGE).

But I have a bug to report, sorry if it is a known issue, but I'm guiding by the first post that is saying there aren't any known issues currently. It is related to contact listing: when I try to use that left bar to quick search contacts, it becomes totally crazy... When it appears on screen, for example, R letter, the contacts are on F letter. It is a very minor bug, because I still can use the quick search, I just need to ignore the letter on the middle of screen.

    One more time, thanks!

    New Kernels

Running 2.1 with the new j_rOdd kernels and this is the best my BF has ever run! Got into the 5's on linpack score. Previously could barely get above 2 maybe 3. Great work.

Uncovered an issue when playing with the new Androidify App. I noticed that whenever trying to add a contact icon from anywhere except the edit function within contacts, e.g. Gallery, Androidify, or Camera Apps), it causes an android.process.acore force close.

Only issue with the new ROM, my mystery reboot problem is gone!

CoryMac913 I had the same problem last night. I was repartitioning for jr0dds 1.6.. 256/1024/remaining of 16gb class10. I was on a low charge and had previously done a dalvik+full wipe while being plugged into usb due to low battery.

Gave up last night, let it charge, and repartitioned at the office again in the morning. No prob.

I've read about other devices having issues relating to staying plugged into usb.. I figure its either that or the wipes causing issues w partitioning. I figured out the format wasn't going after the first page of dots I pulled the sdcard and the progress never stopped.

So.. charge up, boot up, repartition (should happen in less than 5 minutes), then wipe if you'd like the rom to setup apps2sd/swap by default w out messing w settings.

Since the 2.1 contacts was imported from eclair that is why this problem occurs. This problem may actually never be resolved.

Does the new Androidify app work perfectly fine on other ROMs (such as jr0dds)? If not may be the app.
