i had a working backflip running preclair 2.1, however the signal was a little sketchy so i decided against my better judgement to flash the italian radio (i purchased the phone from at&t but now am living in europe).
i wiped the phone and proceeded to reflash the italian radio followed by jr0dd's rom. on reboot i found myself at usb bootloader init screen.
i can still communicate with the phone via rsdlite but it does not go into recovery mode.
what is the safest way to get the phone back to working condition?
i flashed the 13.37 fw sbf file in rsd lite BUT now i have another major problem. this has sent me back to the 1.5 stoneage... and i no longer have root.
when i try to re-root the phone it tells me i cant chmod anything and i cannot run rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin or push files etc. all i get is permission denied!
another funny thing i noticed is that although im in 1.5, the location of each app on the home page (as well as the settings for my weather forecast and news feeds) are the same ones i had in preclair. could this have something to do with not being able to root?
nandroid is gone so a restore is out of the question.
already tried factory reset to see if that irons anything out.
it must be functional, i have little problem when i reflash my moto via RSD and re-root, but i was using old rooting way that does not work for somehow, use the one in the first post IT MUST BE WORKING - youre doing something wrong, do it again.
you can then flash recovery and use nandroid backup if you have it :-P
Dont panic if re-rooting dont work for first time you tryid go and see if youre doing everything as you have, it must working.
be sure you pushed su and SuperUser.apk to your sdcard. rageagaintthecage and install-root.sh have scripts to install them to the system. Also when in doubt copy and paste the commands.
