I too have noticed that nobody can say why it's bad, jut that it is. This is electronics guys. There is a reason it's bad. Is it an overvoltage condition on the fine traces that gets them hot and they snap? Some kind of LCD overload? Can the voltage be lowered? MT is too cool a feature to toss without knowing why. Exactly.

Read post #7 by mrbodk from that thread. The Cliq and The Backflip face the same problems with MT.

or we could simply just let the whole MT thing die already. if you want it that bad, use the forum search tool. the creator took it out so why doesn't really matter. it's his rom.

You guys slay me. I read all 3 pages on the above link. They don't have any idea why MT should be removed either. They guess it's a voltage issue of some kind but nothing else and it's still just a guess. There's just as much reason to believe it's a PR move due to a law suit Motorola is involved in.... over MT!

I have to say the obvious now: If the MT patch causes an overvoltage condition why not edit it to not do that? Or an undervoltage? Or calibration? Why just remove it.... unless there's a legal reason not to fix it not a tech one.

I'll drop it when there's a good reason to drop it. I'm like that.

Be "like that" all ya like. It still doesn't change the fact that this ROM's author ain't gonna include it in his official release for his own reasons. Ya wanna tilt at windmills and argue conspiracy theories, then take it up with Moto. I'm sure j_r0dd couldn't care less.

this will hopefully be the last time i will say this: MT has messed up my screen. it still goes unusable sometimes. it WILL mess up your screen if you have it installed long enough, and i didnt even use it....

Sounds like a great plan - report back when YOU are done.

If devs like Jrodd choose not to tackle something - ITS THERE CHOICE. The Q was asked (MANY FREAKIN TIMES) and he answered - NO. Move on it aint gonna happen. Any dev does not need to give a detailed answer, J_rodd gave us more than he needed to.
It does not work and there are other things that will have higher pay back in the end than MT.
Yes I miss it, NO I dont care if its in or out - This ROM is awesome w/o MT.

As I said earlier go buy another device that supports MT...

i dont want to start another discussion but i dont know why it crashes, but when the screen goes crazy can you access your home button? if you can, then idk, if you cant then it is the MT. thats what happened to me, too.

Be sure you're flashing gapps for 2.3.4 not for 2.2.x

I really don't want to restart the discussion but I do use MT since 2.1 I think and never had any problems. Screen responds like Stock, accuracy is like perfect, and it never gone crazy But I have to say I never got any problems with OC @ 768MHz, too. Maybe someone with OC problems can confirm that he got problems with MT? I don't think that my phone is a special one

Phones vary. It may be good now but continued use and stress will make it fail eventually. My Backflip uses MT fine also and can take a good OC..but its going bye bye to my MIL.
