Avoid AT&T Early Termination Fee With Backflip?

Woohoo! I decided to add a line for my fiance last night and picked up a Galaxy S2 refurb for 9.99 (well about $50 since they tax you on the full price of the phone and not even for a refurbished price either).. Just gonna swap out sim cards when it gets here and let her use the Backflip until my contract is up in April!

So stoked on this.. Backflip was a nice 'intro to Android' but man I cant wait to get away from this phone already!!

I have to say, though, the physical design of the phone was kind of neat. I'd buy another reverse flip phone like that with a good keyboard in a heartbeat if the actual internals were any good. It was a neat phone, just needed a better chipset.

Actually I jumped on board late, so I gotta wait til the end of summer. But I'm leaving my family plan for an individual after my air force basic training (when ever that is gonna be) and getting a new phone...maybe a Skyrocket HD when that's out.

Yeah after playing with the iPhone for a bit thats why I went to the Backflip because of the physical keyboard.. Hopefully the bigger screen size on the GS2 will make it easier for me to type on it hehe. I am gonna miss that keyboard but I cant wait to actually watch like Flash video and Netflix on my phone finally! Not to mention I can finally play Zenonia and Destinia using both hands on the screen now hehe.. That lack of multitouch, I never thought much about it until I started playing newer games like Destinia that doesnt let you use the physical keyboard anymore..

GS2 gets here tomorrow already and luckily its my day off so I can waste the whole day messing with it hehehe.

EDIT: Just had to come and chime in here for all you guys/gals who's contracts are about to run out.. Man Ive only been playing with it for about 2 1/2 hours now but holy f-ing crap.. The Galaxy S2 is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the stupid Backflip! Im still getting used to Samsungs GUI, but the speed of this phone alone is blowing me away.. I just did a restore in MyBackup of all my apps and data that on the BF wouldve required me to put the phone down and go smoke and get a beer while I waited for it.. The GS2 just did it in less then a minute!!!!!!! I pushed all of my apps from the Android Market website and had everything downloaded and installed in literally less then five minutes. This thing is sooooooooooo snappy.. Even my WiFi seems to be working faster then it did on the BF. Not to mention the gorgeous AMOLED display.. Seriously, a refurb is only 9.99 and compared to the Backflip its worth the full 149.99 just for the performance increase! Took me awhile to root cause the tools didnt work on a Mac, so I ended up going the PC route.. Gonna play around with Samsungs interface for a few days before I jump to CyanogenMod.. I may not even need CM anymore with how fast and powerful this thing is!!

Ok now Im out.. I got some Netflix to watch and some lag-free Angry Birds and Destinia to go play!!

Backflip you were a great intro to the world of Android.. But boy do you look really really sad now...
