Help needed - SOLVED (thx bestialbub)
I'd like to try to change the pixels density - which is currently the only thing that bothers me in Kyros.

If any dev can give me some tips I'd be very grateful - I can share my nandroid backups if necessary.

    thx in advance.

    Works like a charm!
After some tests, I think 180 is the optimum value for my use of MD7015.
I confess that I did not look at the Market, because I thought it was a very deply change for an app to make.

    Thx bestialbub!

    my first steps customizing MID7015:
    • installing the Android development environment in Eclipse
    • identifying the "vendor id" from Coby (is 18d1 - like some others)

    first modification, editing build.prop
    • new heap size: 32
    • new default DPS: 180

Successfully edited using the DDMS in Eclipse.
My DPS is now 180 by default - LCD Density does not change the density of persistent way.

    I'm loving this toy.

I have just purchased the coby mid 7024. Pretty much the same but 512ram, 1ghz proc, and 2.2. I know z4root doesn't work. Got any ideas? Will this gapps work if I get it rooted? Thank you.

The MID7024 uses a Samsung processor S5PV210 (Cortex A8) - which is more modern than the MID7015 Telechips 8902.
I recommend making some research on XDA forums and Androidtablets.net to get more information about custom roms.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the site info. Never heard of androidtablets.net, never rooted a tablet either lol. But sure enough there was a guy working on that model and successfully rooted it yesterday. Now I just need shipping to hurry up lol.

So once I obtain root, and flash a custom recovery such as clockwork. Can I flash this gapps package over, or is there a different one I need to look for? My extent of diff gapp packages is to download the one the cyanogen guys (or Kernelzilla for my phone) told me to lol. I know there is mdpi and hdpi, that about all.

    Hello mustangmodderatx!

What I can say so far tested is that of all packages available in google-apps site only "tiny" worked.

I actually downloaded and applied all, one by one in my MID7015. Can not explain the technical reasons - may be related to the resolution, do not really know.

But the fact is that any package had resulted in the boot loop on MID7015.

Good news for owners of a MID7015!

Gingerbread has been available for some time and working perfectly - I'm using the Honeycomb mod available in kyros-tablet-zone and I'm quite satisfied.
