Rom !?

I am switching from T-Mobile to Verizon, and my Devour should be here soon... I see that there are absolutely -no- Devour roms on the net...

Anyone got any ideas for one to port from another device or something... Because the Devour not getting 2.1 kind of chaps my ass...

Personally I am willing to try my hand fully at making one for us poor Devour users, to get us excited about something other than Motorola just plain not caring about their consumers...

ADLXMod would be my first idea of a good port with his permission of course, because I love ADLXMod on my cliq, and that is one gooooood rom.

I'd like to know what'd be needed to know, what would need to be done, and the feasibility currently of this.

P.S. M3 Rules, since the days of my v3 toilings. I'm glad there's someplace us phone loving weirdos can hang out.

According to PDAdb.net, devour has the MSM7627 processor @ 600MHz which is different from Cliq/Cliq XT/Backflip, nevertheless this may not be that different for the two processors should belong to the same family. However you have the 2.6.29 kernel so porting CyanogenMod won't be so hard...but requires a lot of programming knowledge.

So my first object is a custom recovery then? That sounds more difficult than the kernel . I'm familiar with Kernel compiling from Gentoo, and the like... I will be doing more research into this. This is unfamiliar territory to me, as I have no prior code writing experience, but learning for me is my talent,

So I will begin my expedition by researching the custom recovery and will post my findings as i go along.
