Custom recovery... Ideas. Don't get excited. ;)

I was wondering, if the small amount of Devour users that do browse this area and, the few moderators, admins, and modders that do see this, would be so kind as to tell me how feasible it would be to use ClockworkMod Recovery bootstrap method for the Droid X, on the Devour?

This doesn't seem so outlandish, outside the fact that everyone and their mom is trying to dissuade me from attempting.

If anyone who is a bit more knowledgeable than me with this stuff would like to discuss, the feasibility of porting the method to the Devour, I can be contacted on freenode: username: Xase

It seems like it may be easier than first glance.
I've been speaking around, and found out more about the hijack, and perhaps a way to get custom recovery for our lovely devours.

does the devour have the locked boot sector like the droidx? if not i can make a recovery for you. i made one for the cliq, cliqxt & backflip.

From what I get with help from Koush's IRC for clockwork recovery... It seems like the only method so far is still hijacking a binary.

Birdman seems to think that the 'cat' binary is the most viable option for it.

I am working on the source to get it to work for 1.6 devices, as the resulting APK is meant for 2.x and above... but I'm new to this... so.

From what I hear, some one is working on cracking the bootloader. j_r0dd I would be honored if this happens: to test, run, and use your recovery
