How do you flash/install the bootloader? And is this different from the bootloader that is already on the phone?

Anywhere else we might be able to find the 2.2-froyo files? (Specifically the SBF.) FileSonic says the link has expired.

EDIT: Never mind. Finally got it to work after trying it a couple more times and waiting for the stupid 15-minute timeout. Thanks!!!

Doesnt look like the 2.2 update is rootable. Neither rageagainstthecage or z4root seem to work. bummer

I thought this too. (I updated to Froyo as of yesterday afternoon, and to my horror discovered that only 50% of apps were able to be moved to SD card with the native App2SD, which left my new 40mb of available space destroyed within 20 minutes)

My solution, SuperOneClick, available on cnet, you need a Windows machine to run it, but it was like magically importing a coder onto my desktop. It made my 20+ hours of fruitlessly trying to root with different versions of z4root an absolute waste, I wish I would have found this program yesterday.

As of this post, I have Link2SD up and running like a charm.

Amazing stuff, I may just have to donate for magic like that...
