I have a DROID 2 Global, LONG STORY. MY GOAL: To get this phone back to Verizon without voiding warranty
I got my D2G and I rooted it using Z4root without backing it up!
I noticed the bottom Designated icons(the one with 4 squares, home, back, and search) did not light up. It didn't bother me at first but then at night when i was using the phone it got frustrating not having the icons light.
I realized that it wasn't a bad root it was bad hardware! another example besides the buttons not lighting up, while plugged in and charging if I slid up the keyboard to text while it was charging it would stop charging! Even after I closed it while still plugged in it would not continue the charge i would have to unplug and plug it in to start the charging over.
Originally the phone hooked up USB to my laptop but Now it doesn't! I'm using the official USB cable that the phone came with and the phone will not recognize the computer, it wont even charge!
SO just to make it clear,
when the phone is plugged USB to computer with Official D2G USB the Phone will not recognize the connection it wont even charge.
While plugged into the computer with the proper DRIVERS INSTALLED, the computer will NOT recognize the D2G.
The phone IS SET to USB-debugging.
Besides me doing a bad root I know I have hardware issues. I need to FLASH this phone back to factory settings. No threads have been helpful! I have a CD with Ubuntu ready to go, I got windows, I got a MAC. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
side note:
if worst comes to worst I would at least like to know how to permanently get rid of Superuser, bootstrap, and Terminal Emulator. It's easy to unroot but I can't uninstall these 3 programs! I mean I can uninstall them, but when I do a factory reset THEY KEEP COMING BACK.
Im going crazy! someone please help

I use this and gave me no error, check your version of bootloader and do the wipe date / factory reset and wipe cache before select Install update.zip ... or use this .. it´s the same from 4shared: Room Rescue Droid 2 Blobal.rar
ok It still wont install it from the "android system recovery <3e>". It does all the processes just fine but it says this before i wiped to factory
"e: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
&
e: cant open /cache/recovery/caller"
I did "wipe data/factory reset"
and "Wipe Cache Partition"
But when I apply the update it tells me this
E: signature verification failed
install aborted
The proper way is to flash SBF. Follow the steps described in SBF thread (you can either go with one from post #6 or with the one Team Black Hat released. Doesn't matter. It is verry important once SBF is flashed to boot phone in stock recovery (power off, press and hold "X" on keyboard and power on the phone, once you get the triangle with the little android guy, press the magnifying glass button on the keyboard - from the menu, using the direction keys, select wipe data, then reboot the phone. At this point you are bone stock (phone will need reprogramming via *228 option 1 I believe). You can head to Verizon, all traces of phone even been thinkered with are completely erased.
You need RSD Lite 4.5 or 4.9, search by google because we can´t post on the forum, install on your pc.
While phone is off
To manually put your device in bootloader mode:
Turn off device
press and hold the up and down volume buttons
power on device (continue to hold the up and down volume buttons)
wala - you are in bootloader mode
Launch RSDLite (make sure device appears in window)
Select SBF
Start
whats up dark cricket hope your still using this forum, what will room rescue droid 2 blobal do for my droid 2 global, im in the same boat as lacococolaman was, plz help
