Stupid 2ndinit question

Maybe I am braindead but I can't get a backup to restore no matter what I do. Tried same base os as the image I am trying to restore as well as various combos of different but still no luck. Is it just me?

Well from my experience, the apk 2ndinit doesnt let you restore the the backup that you had made from the previous non-apk version of 2ndinit, and vice versa

I have tried it from both the apk version and the older version. Guess the phone just hates me.

This was just posted by Rajneeshgadge17 in the Defy forum. The Defy guide he links to at XDA probably describes the Cliq 2 situation as well.
