edit the struct :
network={
ssid="your AD hoc ssid"
key_mgmt=NONE if ADHOC is in "open" mode
priority =1
mode=1 add this line

PS: I didn't test this, but someone said this will solve the non-adhoc problem

Hey all,

So I just recently started trying to mod my phone. I have a cliq2 (hence reading this thread) and have rooted it successfully, but I'm honestly not quite sure how to use ROM manager.

First, I'd like to back up my current standard Android OS (2.2.2) before flashing a new rom, but when I try to it doesnt appear to back it up, seeing as the list of "manage and restore backups" is empty after trying "back up current rom".

Also, I know i need to flash CWM recovery, but on confirm phone model the cliq2 doesnt come up. Which should I use? I read somewhere on this thread that the Defy is similar, but trying that it says that I'd have need to install CWM recovery manually?

What do you guys suggest?

That is for a device connecting to an adhoc device not broadcasting in infrastructure mode.

Sadly, this doesn't work with honeycomb either.

With the standard rom (and the gb leak) it comes with a mobile wifi hotspot. Works infrastructure mode. Normal cm7 has this option. It's missing from the cliq2 build; the one in wireless & networks > tethering & hotspot.

Usb tethering works, however.

Rom Manager doesn't work for our phone. You have to install 2ndInit!. That will get you recovery. From there you can backup and flash roms. Go here and follow the instructions.

Ah i see, thanks. I looked at the thread and put the files on my SD card in the folder, but what do they mean when they say "Once completed, run the following commands to install."?

Where do I run those commands?

You have to install the Android SDK kit. From there you have to run the commands from DOS prompt.

We do really need to simplify the process of installing 2ndInit.

In my normal clueless fashion I have a question. Exactly how far "done" is this rom? I have sat here and read all 22 pages and I know it boots and thats about it. Forgive the mindless-ness but I have a migrane today and stuff just isnt sinking in and with the one click 2ndinit working I gots to give this a try if it works.
