Road to Cliq2 Sandwitch
Ok I have finally set up my centos6 box at work(a server not just a virtual machine) Connected to a Fios connection able to be access via the internet.
This thread will be the road map to the ICS Rom for the Cliq 2. The code name is Cliq2 Sandwich. The reason to do this is to motivate me to accomplish this asap.
1/5/2012 - Setup the server. Able to access it from home via Teamviewer and ssh.
1/6/2012 - Downloading CM9 source to the box before work.
Calling all devs. I need your help. I am planning on building from source not porting from another build. If interested in helping hit me up. I can use all the help I can.
I hope to have a beta version sometime in February if not sooner.

I am an Android developer (I develop apps). I can probably help you with a few things. Send me a PM and tell me what you need me to work on. As mentioned previously, we can probably copy the drivers from the Cliq 2 2.3.4 leak to the Motorola Defy CM9 ROM to make it boot on a Cliq 2. Also, I know you don't like XDA but posting this there will probably attract a lot more developers.

Most CLIQ2 owners are here.
Copying things? Nahhh, forget it, I will take a guess in the pool you know Java. For now, wait. @tatted - Word of advice, don't do *-+()@#$%-ANYTHING-%$#@)(+-* until you upload your/the source to github. We can't help you if you don't do it.
Bye !

I am working on some training for myself then going to set up github. I was going to do it today but I am protesting censorship today so I'm not touching my laptop. This is my cell so that don't count haha

When you get it up to an alpha stage, I'd be happy to QA test it and write documentation on installation and such.

There's a CM7 port for the Cliq 2 here: [ROM] Unofficial CyanogenMod Port for Cliq2 (pre-alpha5) (2011-11-04). You can find the github source in the posts. I have a hunch that if we copy the drivers from this port to your CM9 port it should boot. If we do that we can probably get a working ROM in a day or two. We can release this ROM as an alpha ROM so people who really want ICS on their Cliq 2 can have it and then we can work out the finer details (camera, GPS, etc) from there.

Most ICS roms are in Alpha and probably won't leave it anytime soon. Nearly all of them have issues with camera, or just no working camera period. If you got something working feel free to post it. People here are pretty good at reporting issues.

Can't you grab drivers from the CM7 Cliq 2 build and just add them to your ROM (link in previous posts)? CM7 and CM9 are both Cyanogenmod ROMs. It's easier and it takes way less time then writing your own drivers (you have to get down to C++ and assembly to write your own which is pretty dirty).
