Proper clean installation:

Boot to cleaned factory recovery
[RECOVERY] JUNE-1 A7-Clean-Factory-Recovery2

Choose to flash update.zip which will initiated my CWM Recovery

Choose Factory Reset

Note: This will FORMAT your /DATA, /CACHE and /SD-EXT partitions.
This is where your downloaded programs, settings, and APP2SD/LINK2SD programs are located, they WILL be wiped out when choosing "Factory Reset".

Choose to flash zip from sdcard and locate the provided file that you downloaded and copied to your sdcard (/storage/sdcard-disk0) location.

This is the most recent Elocity A7 Firmware (2.0134) released April2011.

This firmware has been repacked for use with ClockWorkMod Recovery.

It is the /system (SYSTEM.IMG) provided by Elocity.

This firmware update will FORMAT your /SYSTEM folder and install.

This firmware will not format your /DATA, /CACHE or /SD-EXT for you. This means IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE FACTORY RESET *FIRST* YOU MAY HAVE PROBLEMS.

I intentionally choose not to automate the wiping of personal data on rom install so that you have the freedom to reflash the rom over itself to correct any accidental damage you could cause yourself, via changing /system apps, permissions and settings using 'root'.

I have made a couple SMALL additions/modifications to the factory ROM, nothing overly impressive, but useful those proficient with android;

updated the internal filemanager; openintent file manager with the newest version from market.

included USB_OTG.APK for adb/serial access on compal tablets. This app will allow you to switch between USB Thumbdrive mode(HOST) and USB Cable(DEVICE) mode.

included Terminal Emulator (by jackpal) for easy command line shell access on your tablet

i updated the install-busybox.sh script and included it in the update-script to install busybox's binary and links to /system/xbin while leaving the original copy in /system/bin for some of elocity's system files.

this update.zip will not replace your boot or recovery img, so you won't have to go thru an extra step to put my CWM recovery back in place.

it also won't replace your BOOT.IMG so you MAY or MAY NOT have issues when switch between dexter's roms iF theres any incompatibilities.

NOTE: devs and would be modders; i encourage you to use this as a general template for creating modroms for the elocity a7. the update-script provided has been tested for accuracy of all file permissions and id's.
