[Guide] Make your USB cable a charger

With this picture tutorial you can mod your USB cable to not only flash, but also charge your phone while it is connected.



This is how the cable looks like (before modding)


Open it up and get all wires out

Unpack step 1

Unpack step 2

Remove the protection

Check out the pin scheme by clicking on the picture

Scratch the panel on the back

Solder 22Komh resistor end on pin 2 and the second on the scratched place (ground)

Put back the protector

Put the wires trough the hole

Pack

Make a hole on the plastic cover, so the wire can run out trough it

Pack

Ready to connect a switch

You are ready. You have ON/OFF for USB charger

in what wattage of resistor do use?

I tried to mod my data cable using this procedure, my E398 displays "Unable to Charge". I measured the voltage from pin 3 with respect to ground using VOM, the device says it is 5volts. Is there anybody here who successfully modded their data cable? please help.

I also tried to use 26K ohms and 20K ohms (instead of 22K ohms)but still unable to charge. I also tried to directly connect the 2nd pin to ground (without resistor) and still same effect but i can measure 5volts in pin 3 and pin2.

Help please...
